OUT OF PAST, ATOMIC FEARS HAUNT PRESENT
And Rumsfeld promotes more nuclear weapons today with vaporization on his mind ...

Anti-nuclear weapons group from Japan visits recently opened Atomic Testing Museum

Chizumi Watabe was born eight years after the nuclear blasts that leveled the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, ending World War II, but the bombs continue to affect her life.

Her oldest son, for example, used to get nosebleeds all of the time, and it worried her.

"I was afraid he had some impact from my father's exposure in Hiroshima," she told a group of several dozen Japanese tourists Wednesday who visited the Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas.

1. it is not just new nuke weapons--but energy being talked of now. I realize
that some countries -France -has had sucess with nuke energy but i am leary. We have the sun, the wind, conservation--and seems hydrogen run engines are doing well.

2. I am leery of it, too.
When they come up with a plan to dispose of the waste and come up with a real evacuation plan (in the event that there is an accident), then we can talk. And I mean a real evacuation plan-not some test that in no way takes into account the real problems of an evacuation-real panic, real traffic congestion, etc. I live in central New Jersey. Traffic here can be a nightmare any time of the day or night. An orderly evacuation is what they are trying for, and that is a joke. You can't get an "orderly and quick evacuation" of the Meadowlands parking lot after a Giants game. I don't know what the answer would be to this.
