Tens of thousands of workers have taken to the streets of countries throughout the Asia-pacific region, to mark May Day.
In Indonesia, workers gathered in a number of cities, demanding better working conditions and calling on the government to declare the day a public holiday.
In the capital Jakarta, protesters who marched on the presidential palace carried posters demanding entrepreneurs oppressing workers be arrested. <snip>
In Cambodia, workers gathered to place flowers at the murder site of prominent unionist Chea Vichea.
He was gunned down in broad daylight on a Phnom Penh street in January 2004 in what his union said was a politically motivated killing.
