Veteran GOP Operative Launches Anti-Clinton Web Site
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBI6JJCA8E.html

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A veteran GOP operative launched an anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton Web site Tuesday, complete with an unflattering photo and a warning that she and her husband are trying to "pull the wool over America's eyes once again."

Meanwhile, Clinton was out with a fundraising letter claiming Arthur Finkelstein's "Stop Her Now" effort is part of a growing mound of evidence that Republicans "are prepared to do anything to defeat me."

"We know one thing for sure, the Republicans and their right-wing allies are going to be hitting us hard with false charges," the former first lady wrote to potential donors, calling herself "the Republicans' number one target in 2006."

Clinton is seeking re-election next year to the New York Senate seat she won in 2000 and Republicans claim she wants to use that race as a stepping stone to a 2008 presidential run. She insists her sole focus is on getting re-elected.

1. Nice
I think it's great that they're so scared of her.

While she's not my choice for an alternative to the conservatives (she's too much like 'em for my tastes); it's nice to see them so afriad that they're starting the character assiniations this early.

Cheers

Who runs campaigns for homophobes like Jesse Helms. Oh, by the way - he recently got married to his male lover of 40 years at their Massachusetts home, where they have adopted two boys.

Here's a wedding photo . . .

and they're scared shitless! That would mean they're defense spending and corporate welfare would have to be drastically cut and they'd lose all their lobbying handouts.

He has campaigned for years on the repub side against gay marriage and rights, yet within the last month or so got married to his gay partner in Massachusetts.

8. Oh, yeah. And he gave this quote to a newspaper:
"I believe that visitation rights, health care benefits and other human relationship contracts that are taken for granted by all married people should be available to partners."

He'd better not hold his breath until the GOP puts that in their platform.

7. Boston Globe: Adviser to GOP had gay wedding

http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/04/10/adviser_to_gop_had_gay_wedding/?rss_id=Boston+Globe+--+City%2FRegion+News

By Jenna Russell, Globe Staff | April 10, 2005

A Republican consultant known for his sharp attacks on liberal causes -- and for boosting conservative careers like that of former US senator Jesse Helms -- married his longtime male partner late last year at their home in Ipswich.

Arthur J. Finkelstein, 59, has advised Governor Mitt Romney, who opposes gay marriage, and Governor George S. Pataki of New York, who said gay marriages performed in Massachusetts would not be recognized in his state. Finkelstein played a key role in Helms's come-from-behind victory in 1990, a campaign denounced for using homophobia to win votes.

Helms, who represented North Carolina in the Senate for 30 years, has rejected gay rights and has called homosexual behavior ''disgusting."

Apparently, you now spell hypocrite F-i-n-k-e-l-s-t-e-i-n.

He should go on the attack against his own party before going after one of ours.

By getting us to respond to other issues, they have managed to get us to ignore and normalize (entrench) E-voting....drowned out by an overheated, contentious election.

28. I doubt they're scared of Hillary at all. Who would be?
The real point of their bashing is to raise money. The Clintons are useful as bugaboos for filling GOP coffers.

I find this sideshow amusing--she's nearly as right wing as they are. If Finklestein were more honest, he'd welcome her as family.

Rudy Giuliani To Run Against Hillary Clinton In 2006 For Her Senate Seat

This Republican Party would never never nominate Rudy Giuliani to run for President. They are going to build their 2006 election campaign propaganda around the Rudy verses Hillary Senate race.

Question: What's funnier than Arthur's Finkelstein's statement below?

"A veteran GOP operative launched an anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton Web site Tuesday, complete with an unflattering photo and a warning that she and her husband are trying to 'pull the wool over America's eyes once again.'"

Answer: The fact that Arthur Finkelstein and his "husband are trying to pull the wool over" American homophobes within the Republican Party.

Finkelstein, for those here who do not know, was recently "married" to his new husband in New York.

Democratic Underground is more worthy of press than that Repug obscure website. We get quite a few celebrety visitors who actually come here and debate and listen.

This won't happen at that obscure GOP site.

and do not, I repeat, do NOT run for President in 08. Too much baggage and they will have her answering to old trumped charges the entire time. She will never escape Bill and his escapades. Just that simple....Let's not waste our change to get the White House back and if she is the nominee for the Democratic Party, IMHO we will lose.
