Teacher With Criminal Past Accused Of Abuse
Principal Reportedly Knew Of Teacher's Murder Conviction

BALTIMORE -- A private school teacher in court Monday accused of sexually abusing several students had been previously convicted of murder, reported Baltimore television station WBAL

Parents and lawmakers expressed their concern over the situation at the east Baltimore private school where, unknown to them, a convicted killer had been teaching.

"I think we should have been told," a parent said.

Students returned to class at the Community Initiatives Academy for the first time since authorities arrested Charles Carroll, 28, last week. Carroll is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl and sexually abusing another 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl.
