Bush optimistic on U.S. economy
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=89544826ea910188

Big News Network.com Saturday 14th May, 2005

President Bush said Saturday the American economy was the envy of the world.

He was commenting on positive data particularly on the jobs front.

Speaking in his weekly radio address, the president said, 'We added 274,000 new jobs in April, and we have added nearly 3.5 million jobs over the past two years. Unemployment is down to 5.2 percent, below the average rate of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. We have seen steady job gains during each of the past 23 months, and today more Americans are working than at any time in our history.'

snip...

'We'll also discuss our need for a comprehensive national energy strategy that reduces our dependence on foreign oil,' he said. 'This strategy will encourage more efficient technologies, make the most of our existing resources, help global energy consumers like China and India reduce their own use of hydrocarbons, encourage conservation, and develop promising new sources of energy such as hydrogen, ethanol and biodiesel,' he said.

China and India you need to conserve your energy needs!!! Is this man in the real world or is he in the Republican Matrix!!!

11. No one is buying his spiel
Except for the top 20%. The rest of us know that our trips to the movies have been canceled by our trips to the gas station. We can't afford both.

Our infrastructure is crumbling as he denies the states a return of taxes. Our local property taxes are going up to replace his non return of federal taxes. We've trimmed our help to the needy because he's also denied those funds to be returned. He has other priorities.

It's sad anyone buys his spiels while accepting our standard of living is being cut.

16. People ARE buying the 'spiel' -
But I think as time goes by, as the body counts mount, the draft is instituted, companies crumble and people no longer have the luxury of filing for bankruptcy or can no longer afford health insurance, people will wake up. My country disappoints me; nah, not my country, the admin. does, but that's subject to change always!

The twilight zone response was resurrected in me, due to the late hour and bushworld sayings.

and subsidized by the tax payer. The CEO's get to keep their millions and their own pension plans. Bush's America.

He said under this administration, jobs have increased, poverty reduced, and more Americans have money in their pockets. He talked about how the world is safer as democracy is spread. Enough to gag a maggot.

24. Does anyone have real jobs info?
What do the numbers we hear really mean? What happens when people drop off of the roles? Are the people camped under the overpasses counted in the unemployment numbers? Has Bush created a net job yet? What happens to people who used their savings to go out on their own when they lost their jobs and have since failed at their business leaving them without savings, without unemployment, and possibly saddled with debt that they can't escape? I thought that in order to just break even we had to create 150,000 jobs per month. What about all the months they tried to say that things were looking up because we created 130,000 jobs? Isn't that a net loss? I would love to have real reliable statistical info to cram down neocon throats. Help if you can.

26. Check the daily "Stock Market" thread under this forum
You'll need to go back through each page to find Friday's since you don't have search abilities. The guys/gals who post on that thread are good at sifting the truth from the Fed's figures.

and knowing that Condi is in Iraq this morning to buck up the troops. She even said that the situation in Iraq is starting to look rosy for Democracy.

After a good dump, I'll curl up to some FOX news and with a good book from Bill O'Reilly I'll go to sleep.

Everything that comes out of it is the opposite of the truth!

Remember, they hate us for our freedoms so we have to kill them to install freedom (which they hate) and make them love us! ARGHHH!
