Protesters chant 'bomb New York'

20 May 2005
More than 100 hardline Islamic protesters chanted the name of Osama bin Laden outside the US Embassy in London today.

The crowd, which is expected to grow during the afternoon, included many men whose faces were covered by their headscarves and at least a dozen women.

Their demonstration "against the desecration of the Koran" was being held yards from the steps of the Embassy in Grosvenor Square, which was guarded by a small detail of police.

The crowd, led by a man on a megaphone, chanted "USA watch your back, Osama is coming back" and "Kill, kill USA, kill, kill George Bush".

Keep in mind, the US is a society where the bullies don't get punished. Their victims do. And become scapegoats if they act out of angst.

pick on NY, where there are probably more people against this stupid, stupid administration than anywhere else in the country. The trouble is the pro-war folks live in places that aren't high profile targets and don't mind NYC taking their place (edit: except for the politicians in D.C., and even there most real people are anti-administration).

14. Even for Americans, 60% of the country is 'fly-over' America.
For most people overseas, they know Washington, New York and LA, and maybe Atlanta (for CNN), and other than Washington, New York has the memorable landmarks, the skyline, instantly recognizable across the world because of the movies.

30. Globalism: NYSE, UN, IMF, World Bank
Edited on Fri May-20-05 11:13 AM by aion
Globalism is furthered by the actions of the NYSE and the United Nations/IMF/World Bank. I would expect any of these to be targets of their aggression...since they see them as the agents responsible for their repression and expropriation.

20. The mere fact that what amounts to a handful of folks shouting such,...
,...things are being placed directly under the microscope leads me to ponder whether this merely an additional piece of manipulative propaganda. I mean, there have been tens of thousands involved in numerous demonstrations in this country and we hardly get a blip on the media screen.

So, yeah,...I am very suspicious.

As An Coulter opined...these fools (NYT et. al.) are drawing ever closer to being lynched by the American Public tired of their bias and Anti-Americanism.

And it would be justice to do so, IMHO...how many people have been hurt by their propaganda?

It's a shame that our own media would incite riots against us by creating bad news - in an attempt to drain this current adminstration of any positive achievements whatsoever.

=(

They should be chanting "bomb the red state bigots". Maybe these people need to know they are targeting the wrong americans and that is a mistake.

Vilifying and detroying the progressive urban centers will only strengthen the right wing.

This is really tragic in that most probably (not sure of anything anymore) most Americans are not supporters of desecration of the Koran. Probably more than 1/2 of us do not care for Bush with a large segment who actually despise him. They have not figured out that a violent response is exactly what Bush needs and wants.

25. It's long overdue ...
"This is really tragic in that most probably (not sure of anything anymore) most Americans are not supporters of desecration of the Koran."

...that rational people start to question the supposed right of religious fundamentalists to demand that their collections of fables not be "desecrated". I fully support the right of anyone to desecrate a bible, a koran or the collected fairy-tales of the Grimm brothers.
