Just received this in my email from C-SPAN! Great news folks.

Thanks for your inquiry about C-SPAN's coverage of Thursday's meeting with John Conyers regarding the Downing Street Memo. Direct TV has it. Local Comcast Cable only has "limited" C-Span 2.

Democrats Question U.S. Pre-War Actions

WASHINGTON - Some congressional Democrats are insisting that the White House provide more information about what led to the decision to go to war in Iraq, citing a British document known as the "Downing Street memo" as evidence intelligence was distorted.

Rep. John Conyers (news, bio, voting record) and other Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee conducted a public forum Thursday prompted by documents that have surfaced from inside the British government about prewar planning.

Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, who advised the Bush administration in 2002 that Saddam Hussein had not tried to buy a certain kind of uranium from Africa, said Conyers' hearing was important.

"We are having this discussion today because we failed to have it three years ago when we went to war," Wilson said.

It kept "cutting off" and I'd have to start it all over again. Very frustrating, and that's never happened with C-Span!

Then, last night, while channel-flipping, I landed on C-Span2 ..... and guess what?

There was the ENTIRE Conyers forum!

32. C-SPAN 2 showed it almost immediately after C-SPAN3

My spouse and I watched the live hearings on our little Monitor and then was glad to hear the news that C-SPAN 2 would show it again on Friday.

I then went to my TV to find out if any of the cable news was reporting on the hearings. I was pleasantly surprised that C-SPAN2 had just started to re-run the hearings again.

My sister called me early this morning to tell me that while flipping through the channels late last night - early a.m., she also discovered the hearings were again playing the hearings.

I think what happened is that C-SPAN 1 and 2 are committed to the House and Senate gavel to gavel coverage, but when they are not in session than all C-SPAN channels are free to program.
