Egypt: Scientist 'Cleared' Of Bombings

A British-based biochemist from Egypt arrested in Cairo has been cleared of any involvement in the London bombings.Egyptian security sources have said Magdy el Nashar is no longer under suspicion for the July 7 attacks.The 33-year-old is a chemist and PHd student who studied at Leeds University.

A spokesman said: "The investigation of Magdy Nashar concluded in a definite fashion that he had no role in the London bombings.

"The British authorities confirmed it after information was exchanged with Egypt."

Anti-terror police were alleged to have found chemicals associated with bombs in a bath at a house he rented in Leeds.
