... Democrats seek investigation into why probe took so long; 67 Days?
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 07:38 PM by SharonRB
From Raw Story:

Michigan Democrat John Conyers and nine Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee issued a letter to the U.S. Inspector General calling for an investigation into a 12-hour delay between the Justice Department learning of the outing of a CIA agent and telling the White House to preserve documents, RAW STORY has learned.

Perhaps more significantly, however, Judiciary Democrats point to the 67 day gap between the time the CIA called the Justice Department to investigate the CIA outing and the time that the Justice Department directed the FBI to investigate the matter.

"It appears the now infamous 12 hour delay the Justice Department granted the White House before issuing an order to preserve documents was not an isolated instance," Conyers remarked. "I received information from the Central Intelligence Agency indicating a pattern of foot dragging by the Justice Department before it would commence a criminal investigation, or even respond to CIA requests."

WTF --67 days?????? Go to Raw Story to read more.

2. Of course not
But Conyers keeps trying -- bless him. He's persistent. They could have destroyed an awful lot of evidence in 67 days.

3. This is where I get mad at the Media. Is Conyers supposed to do it alone?
His hearings and letter should get national coverage. Instead the Dems are always made to look as if they do nothing. And then blamed for it. i am convinced that half the people in this country think the Dems are responsible for the mess we are in.

4. The media didn't even cover all of the town halls held last
Saturday on the DSM and Rovegate. I was at the one Conyers held and there was nothing in the local papers even though there were lots of reporters and photographers in the room.

8. Accountability. We must demand accountability.
I hold the press just as responsible for this national nightmare as I do the imposters in the White House.

Peace.

10. You are right. But all the news cannot be about what politicians say.
The media has a voice too and it is time it was heard. Otherwise Repukes, who have the biggest megaphones, can claim everything is "just politics"

9. They can't invite themselves...
Isn't it obvious the so called MSM is very selective about who they have on their air.

First off they won't cover these topics, and when they are forced to cover significant news, they snatch up Joe Biden or some no name southern Dem from a red state that they know can't sound too liberal.

The few times they have a Dem on who will call a spade a spade, there also is the ever present RW radical with his Mic turned up to talk over and drown out the Dem when he is attempting to answer the non-relevant 3 minute length question asked by the host.

Hound'em when they get on and not speak, but it is tough to hound'em when the Microphone is withheld from them

11. Who is denying major TV interviews to Dean , Kerry, Obama, Hillary, etc?
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 03:32 PM by Dr Fate
Show me some proof. More like it, the Top, "star" DEMs with media access are being selective about when they want to speak and about what.

I've heard the exact opposite- that they CAN invite themsleves and that they get "bumped up" when they do.

I find it hard to believe that major shows would turn down a Kerry, Dean or Hillary interview- in fact, I've SEEN them on TV shows many times with my own eyes.

Excuses, excuses.
