ALBANY, Ga. (AP) — Before this week, the Georgia Army National Guard's 48th Infantry Brigade hadn't lost a soldier in combat since World War II.

Now the 4,300-strong unit is mourning four of its members, killed Sunday by a roadside bomb in Iraq. The Pentagon has not yet released the soldiers' names, but two — Jacques "Gus" Brunson of Sylvester and Spc. James Kinlow of Thomson — have been identified by their families.

"It's a very tragic time for all of us," said Jim Driscoll, a spokesman for the Georgia National Guard. "At the same time, we understand that these are brave soldiers who volunteered to serve our country and who are doing what their country asked them to do."

The 48th Brigade is the largest combat unit of the Georgia National Guard to deploy since World War II. In the two months that the brigade has been in Iraq, 61 of its soldiers have been wounded and one died in an accident.

3. Are they even reporting these killings any more?
I don't remember hearing anything about this on MSM or the web, and I'm usually a news junkie.

4. Let's see the Tactical Plan is to ride up and down the same
road everyday to show the average Iraqi that they are free and safe.
What the hell kinda of tactics are these. Even in VN that was never the practice. My sincere condolences to the troops and their families.
