Baltimore Orioles' Palmeiro suspended 10 days for violating steroids policy

NEW YORK (AP) - Rafael Palmeiro was suspended 10 days for violating Major League Baseball's steroids policy Monday, nearly five months after the Baltimore Orioles first baseman emphatically told Congress that "I have never used steroids. Period."

Palmeiro became the highest-profile player among the seven who have failed a test under the toughened major league policy that took effect in March, rules criticized by Congress as not being stringent enough.

In a conference call Monday, Palmeiro said he never intentionally took steroids and could not explain how the drugs got into his body. He also apologized and said would accept his punishment.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said President Bush considers Palmeiro "a friend and he believes him" when he says he never intentionally took steroids.

I went to my doc. I got a prescription for a cream that had steroids,in it and I could not GET IT it was "illegal"! Why because it had steroids in it and my state insurance would not dispense it. Fucking assholes Like I give a RATS ASS about baseball enough to be TORMENTED by itching..
I got eczema dammit..steroid creams help me to not claw myself raw.
Yet because of this stupid "the integrity of sports" bullshit and the greed of BETTERS on sports I get to Itch. Thanks you dumb ass jocks asshole"fans" Stupid fucking senators, and gambling addicts may you all get eczema too.and one day have to think about something other than your fucking"games" and wish the government had not restricted steroids..this way because of sports. More than likely,his Insurance wouldn't pay for a steroid cream that could be purchased over the counter.
The only anabolic steroid "cream" I am aware of is androgel-a testosterone gel that is applied to the skin,but absorbed systemically.
The goverment is focusing on anabolic steroids because it is a relatively low market,with easily identified users,who might actually make bail and pay for their own lawyers.They have essentially admitted defeat in the "War on Drugs" by doing this.
As a nurse,I have known "ONE" patient who has caused harm to himself through anabolic steroids.I can't tell you the thoudsands who have killied themselves with coke,heroin and alcohol.
As a bodybuilder,I have used steroids on several occaisions.They aren't all they are cracked up to be.

when restrictions are passed for athletes it HAS to apply to everyone else regardless.. I am not making money off my sport performance. And who values sport performance the most and insist steroids ruin the "games"? The fans,betters and competitors that"lose"..Me I could care less about sports.Sorry I think there are more important issues in life.
