Palmeiro to provide information to Congress
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3853198

BEN WALKER / Associated Press

Rafael Palmeiro has agreed to release information about his failed drug test to Congress, including the results, dates of the tests and other relevant details.

The Baltimore Orioles slugger tested positive for the powerful steroid stanozonol, a person with knowledge of the sport's drug-testing program told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Wednesday. The person did not want to be identified because the sport prohibits disclosure about test results without authorization.

Government Reform Committee chairman Tom Davis, a Virginia Republican, and ranking Democrat Henry Waxman of California issued a statement Wednesday saying Palmeiro has "pledged his full cooperation" with their inquiry.

"The Government Reform Committee today is requesting from Major League Baseball documents related to Rafael Palmeiro's suspension for a positive steroids test. The Committee is seeking the results of the drug tests, the date of the tests, and other relevant information," the statement said.

2. I am not
a true sports fan but those athletes that cheat the system make all of them look bad.

But it seems in our present day world lying cheating and stealing is the norm.

Damn shame to. What do we tell the kids?

4. Pretty much blows a big hole in his lame excuse
Stanozonol isn't something you find in any over the counter supplement or energy mix.

3. Was Palmeiro's previous appearance considered "testimony"?
Could Palmeiro be jailed for lying under oath, or was it a more informal "dialogue"?

5. From my understanding, yes it was formal testimony
Palmeiro could be tried for perjury.

But since he's Bush's buddy, fat chance that'll happen.

9. The testimony was in March, the tests came later
Tests conducted after his testimony wouldn't demonstrate that he perjured himself.

10. Right, of course. But the recent test lends much credibility...
... to the Canseco claim that he'd done steroids w/ Palmeiro. Others have been found guilty on less, for more.

6. Well, he should do something...
He got caught, and he should cooperate and do what the authorites want, and give up all the info he knows. Of all the stars that went in front of Congress and discussed steroids, i thought Raf would be the one, who DIDN"T use them, but i'm proven wrong, once again.:) He knew what he was taking, and so does Bonds, and i use this line of logic on that.

In high school, i had a good handful of friends who were wrestlers for our high school team. These friends had to maintain weight, watch what they ate and were on a strict vitamin/food regime. Now if a high school athelte does this, i imagine a pro athelete is even more anal about what he intakes. Bonds not knowing what he took? Pure BS, in my book. Any athelete who takes these drugs should be removed from the sport forever, and any record they held/had should be taken away and erased, and then maybe, that will send a clear message to the rest of the atheletes in all sports, that doping isnt tolerated.

7. Someone owes Jose an apology, I think
Even though he wrote the book because he is a fame whore and wants money, Canseco was dead right about Palmeiro (even though I think he;s lying about Mark McGwire not taking roids).

11. Palmeiro "pledged his full cooperation" last time with their steroid
inquiry. And he lied. junior stands behind this clown, Palmeiro.

So what will happen this time? Just another lying session that the taxpayers will carry.
