Connecticut Police Opt Out of Random Searches
Connecticut Police Opt Out of Random Searches

STAMFORD, Conn. -- While New York authorities kicked off random searches of passengers' bags for increased transit security, Connecticut did not.

In the wake of bombings in London, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority began random searches on all subways and commuter railroads traveling in and out of New York City.

But a spokesman for Gov. M. Jodi Rell (she's acually a Republican!) said that she opted not to order the bag searches and instead decided to put more state troopers on Metro-North trains and bomb-sniffing dogs at stations.

3. Hold on there!
That's policy tailored on Constitutional principles.

Way out of fashion in Bushco's America.

5. Rell is a RINO
Good for her for not doing it...

But, here are some other things she has done in her year in office:

1) Proposed money for stem-cell research, then signed the bigger package that the Democratic legislature passed (she proposed 2 years, $20 million, Dems passed 10 years $100 million)

2) signed civil unions bill into law with no protest.

3) proposed full public financing of all state-wide political campaigns (in a move that outfoxed our state Democrats in the legislature!)

7. It used to be
that Republicans could be reasonable people too - sometimes.

She just isn't going along with the new deal where they never are.
