Officials Test Radio Tags at Canada Border
Officials Test Radio Tags at Canada Border

Tuesday August 9, 2005 1:31 AM

By WILLIAM KATES

Associated Press Writer

ALEXANDRIA BAY, N.Y. (AP) - Security officials gathered Monday at a Canadian border crossing to mark the first test of a radio frequency identification system to be used by foreign visitors.

If successful, radio ``tags'' carried by travelers will be part of the standard registration process for those entering the United States.

<snip>

This is the second phase of US-VISIT, the screening system launched in 2004 at busy airports, sea ports and land crossings. The system requires scanning fingerprints and photographs of the visitor's face into a computer when someone who wants to enter the U.S. applies for a visa.

All foreign travelers using visas will also obtain their radio tags from U.S. Customs officials when they first register to enter the United States. The tag is embedded into a document, which the traveler presents to enter or leave the United States.

4. And you can bet little brother will be sticking his
in the microwave for a few seconds, thereby rendering it as useless as Bush** himself.

That is, if they're the same model schools are using in Japan, and some have talked about using here (to "fight truancy", don't ya know :sarcasm: ). The really scary ones are the implantable ones... :scared:

5. Not a problem for THIS Canuk . .
.
.
.

When I saw the first bomb hit Baghdad, I decided never to cross the American border again in this lifetime.

The Patriot Act, the reSelection were only two of the many events which followed my decision to never doubt the wisdom of my decision

Bush would have never lasted one term up here, let alone get put back in power for a second round of lies and carnage . .

We've thrown much better people than the Boy King right out on their ass.

6. Same here...at least until further notice.
I've seen Disneyland, I've lived in LA, and I may even miss visiting NYC (a great city), but until further notice I shant be visiting the US for any reason. Hey. it's a big, beautiful world out there; so many places to see and people to meet...

In fact, last year we went to Brazil...at an extra cost of about $300 per ticket, we flew Vancouver>Mexico City>Bogota>São Paulo instead of Seattle>Atlanta>São Paulo JUST TO AVOID FLYING IN US AIRSPACE.

It was an exhausting two days of flying, but we fucking refused to play the Homeland BS game...
