Bush Taps Miller to Oversee War Monuments

By JEFFREY McMURRAY, Associate Press Writer 1 hour, 56 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - After snubbing his Democratic Party to deliver the Republican keynote address for
President Bush, former Georgia Sen. Zell Miller (news, bio, voting record) seemed a good bet for an ambassadorship, adviser post or maybe even a Cabinet office. On Tuesday, the White House revealed Miller's choice: a seat on the American Battle Monuments Commission.

"I'm just an old man looking after cemeteries," Miller said in an interview Tuesday after President Bush tapped him for the job.

he acknowledged letting Bush know of his interest in the commission last year after returning from the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy.

As for his other retirement tasks, Miller has been giving speeches, serving as a part-time commentator on the Fox News Channel and working on a book about Appalachia.

1. "I'm just an old man looking after cemeteries"
No, Zell, you're just an old man looking for a cemetary.

35. What about those strange folks in the basement? They'll bury you.
Unrequited narcissism is responsible for most of the horrors of human history, and this asshole is front and center in that display.

Remember how he viewed the Democratic Party as a comfy old house that had been defiled by those weirdos thrashing around downstairs? His world was one of the old Confederacy and social stability that was being disturbed by the forces of reality. Not only does he have bats in his belfry, they're in his basement.

The fusillade of distortions he fired against Kerry at the Republican National Convention are even more ridiculous when compared with the voting record of the following speaker, Deadeye Dick Cheney. "Voting against" a weapons system is WAY different than voting against a supplementary spending bill with certain allocations for it. Cheney, on the other hand, tried to KILL many of these programs.

This man is so knotted up with self-justification that he'd do anything to hold his head high.

The only thing that will keep him from being a laughingstock in American History is his rightful marginalization.

2. The best Bush could do because Zell isn't playing with a full deck --
he couldn't do an ambassadorship, adviser post, or Cabinet office. I think he's senile, or early Alzheimer's (which is tragic for anyone).

How is he any different?

Notice I didn't say either of them are qualified to eat my shit, let alone serve in any official capacity.

16. This is not much of a promotion, especially for an older man already
burdened, I am sure, by thoughts of mortality. Glad he won't be dealing with the living -- he is capable of scaring those to death, so many would be no longer living.

41. What happened to the job he had at the law firm?
I don't remember the name of the firm, but I live in Ga. and I remember it was in Buckhead, Alpharetta, or Marietta. They aren't real far from me, but far enough that I knew I would never use a firm there.

GEE, wonder if the partners decided he was even way too out there for them????
