10 doctors killed in Iraq

6. Of course, it's not just RWers that need a dose of reality.

They're not insurgents, they're freedom fighters ... they only target collaborators.

Ahem.

On edit: I guess the appropriate response is to say that it was actually an American CIA black ops death squad of doom that did this. The only evidence is, of course, that we believe freedom fighters couldn't have done it.

15. That's sort of my snarky point.
The people claiming the 'insurgency' is a 'resistance' composed of 'freedom fighters' have, of late, tapered off.

Actually, I was vaguely hoping this thread would address address why doctors are so often hit. Pakistan had a string of sectarian homicides which seemed largely to hit doctors.

10. who benefits from this?
Would insurgents be so stupid to involve itself in something that would outrage Muslims?

I think this was predicted--more false flag attacks.

11. If the attackers knew they were doctors...
it was probably designed to turn local people away from supporting the insurgents.

who don't want the current government to succeed.

Beside this horrible story, what about the stories where suicide bombers just blow themselve up in town squares? There are no US soldiers around, no major infrastructure to mess up like bridges, pipelines, etc. It seems their only immediate goal is to kill, hurt and scare a lot of Iraqis. False flag wouldn't apply to those types of attacks, right?
