KABUL - US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan said one of their service members was killed on Friday and two were wounded in a training accident involving explosives in the central province of Uruzgan.

In statement issued in the Afghan capital Kabul, the US military said the wounded were evacuated to Bagram Airfield for treatment. Bagram is located 50 kilometers north of Kabul and is the main US military base in Afghanistan.

One Afghan soldier also was wounded in the accident and is being treated at a hospital in Tarin Kowt.

In a saparate statement, the US military confirmed that a Taleban leader, Qari Amadullah, was killed during heavy fighting near the city of Wazikwa in the southeastern province of Paktika.

1. It is my sense that Afghanistan will become "hotter" than Iraq.
The Afghan people are experienced in guerrilla warfare and Karzai is clearly a US puppet who will garner increasing opposition. The US ruling circles believed that Afghanistan was a "success story," but events will prove them very, very wrong.
