CBS: Ranks Swelling At Camp Crawford
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 09:12 AM by truthpusher
I did a Yahoo search on Cindy this morning and was surprised to see the number of stories and stories with positive headlines...link: http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/search?p=cindy+sheehan&toggle=1&ei=UTF-8&SpellState=n-1777183500_q-f0xbmt%2FyHer6JflxK%2F8KugABAA%40%40&datesort=1 .....I also walked into my local convenience store this morning to find the television blaring with Cindy on the screen...the NBC report was very positive with the exception of a quick note at the end about some of her family objecting...Cindy is everywhere...the movement is really picking up steam...

Ranks Swelling At Camp Crawford
-------------------
Mother Of Slain Troop Has Been Camped Out Since Saturday
Vows To Remain Until Meeting With Bush
-------------------
(CBS) CRAWFORD, Texas As a campsite of protesters steadily swells in size along a road leading to President Bush's ranch, demonstrators there are facing increased antagonism from locals and opposition from some military families.

More drivers are speeding and blaring horns continuously as they pass the camp, which started Saturday as grieving mother Cindy Sheehan's simple peace vigil. It has grown to about 100 people, with more expected from across the nation.

(snip)

Protesters are digging in their heels, vowing to stay by their tents in the heat or rain until President Bush talks to Sheehan or until his five-week ranch visit ends later this month.

(snip)

While Sheehan has been joined by dozens of other anti-war protesters, and her cause has been taken up by high-profile liberal groups like MoveOn.org, her efforts are drawing criticism as well. In an e-mail to the Drudge Report, members of her husband's family said, "She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the expense of her son's good name and reputation."

1. ranch visit, huh?
Visit?

Shit, I think I'm going to go tell my boss there's an intermittent network outage that's affecting our security system, in Hawaii. It's intermittent so I'll have to be there to personally monitor the situation, and it could take up to 4 months.

And I'll need extra cash for the hotel and food.

And beer.

2. If it grows enough, just watch--Bush will suddenly be called back to
Washington. The coward. Then he will just pretend to be in charge for a day and then continue the rest of his vacation at Camp David.

3. The MSM is calling the site "Camp Crawford"
It may not sound like a big deal, but it is. They're using OUR friendly term for Cindy's protest site. She's taken the language back!

5. "her own personal agenda."
I love this statement from her in-laws. If your child is not the most personal agenda you could possibly have, I sure as hell don't know what is.

Yessiree!

Can you say "selective enforcement of the law"?

Can you say "using the office of the sheriff for political purposes"?

8. As the mother of two grown sons
I can assure her husband's family that after being raised by this remarkable woman, her son Casey would doubtless approve of her actions.

Just because monkey-boy has no honest, genuine emotions of his own, does not mean that he can ignore Cindy. Her husband's relatives come across as tacky and jealous of the attention she's getting. If they had truly loved Casey, they would be in Crawford right now, supporting his mom.

11. "five-week ranch visit"? Wow-Rove works fast
it's no longer a vacation, it's a "visit". :eyes:

As for locals blaring their horns; all they need to do is put up signs that say "Honk if you support Cindy" or "Honk if you think the pResident lied us into war".

12. great idea.
Maybe some of the speeders heads would explode, with the confusion of whether to honk or not.
