It looks like two passengers were on board, and two people died. I speak Spanish, not Italian, but that's what it looks like to me.

7. BBC link
A light aircraft has crashed in southern Italy, killing two people on board, say reports.

The plane came down in the Serra di Paola area of Calabria, Italian news agency Ansa said.

The two people on board both died in the accident, said Italian police quoted by Reuters news agency.

Italian firefighters described the aircraft as a "tourist plane". There was no immediate word on which airport it was flying to or from.

8. A little more readable translation

COSENZA - A touring airplane with two passengers has fallen in flames in culticvated land in the town of San Lorenzo Bellini, on the slope of Polino in the Province of Cosenza. Both the pilot and the passenger are dead and incinerated. The aircraft in flames was seen from a forest service lookout which sent out the alarm.

9. I feel terrible for those victims
but how does a story about a light aircraft crashing in Italy make CNN, but the horrendous number of civilian deaths in Iraq, Niger and the Sudan barely gets a blip?

Yeah, I know, typical liberal response, but come on.
