2. Did this really happen?
"Thomas Zapp, the father of another soldier killed in Iraq in November 2004, came to rally for Bush and "talk to Cindy."

"She expresses her opinion and I want to express mine to her. She has no right to call Bush a murderer and to compare him to
Saddam Hussein,"
he said."

I have not heard this come out of her mouth. Is Mr. Zapp just repeating some of the right wing radio slime? I highly doubt this type of language was used.

20. Uh, Mr. Zapp, you've been brainwashed. Cindy never said that. But I will

- SHRUB IS A MURDERER!
- SHRUB IS JUST LIKE SADDAM HUSSEIN!
- SHRUB IS A MURDERER!

Cindy merely said Shrub lied to us. She's far too kind for your ilk.

3. Oh, right, she has no right to call dear chimpie a murderer.
Yet, Cindy says the * lovers have a right to be there. Why does she hate her country so? Also noted that it said 'hundreds' of supporters for Cindy, then said 'others' for *.

10. Last I heard, this is America and we have
freedom of speech. I doubt if Cindy said that, but she has every right to say exactly what she wants to about the squatter.

5. Leave it to them to take away all dignity from the Sheehan standoff.
They'll turn it into a circus with their side being louder and the rest is history.

6. I think this quote sums up the differences RIGHT here:
Asked Saturday about the presence of Bush supporters opposite the anti-war protestors, Sheehan said "I don't want to argue with them. This is their right as Americans to do what they do, and we realize that."

Thomas Zapp, the father of another soldier killed in Iraq in November 2004, came to rally for Bush and "talk to Cindy."

"She expresses her opinion and I want to express mine to her. She has no right to call Bush a murderer and to compare him to Saddam Hussein," he said.

How utterly telling that it would be the wingnut who makes sure he says that SHE has no RIGHT to call Bush a murderer and to compare him to Saddam Hussein. Yep. . .that's the wingnut version of free speech - only THEY are entitled to vilify others without consequence.

7. I wonder if Thomas Zapp,
father of a fallen soldier who disagrees with Cindy, was able to speak to her. I'm wondering if he was "the man in the truck" which bloggers talked about. He parked his truck facing Arlington West and the tents. Finally, the retired colonel (Anne? Sorry I'm bad remembering names) came up and talked with him. Seems he was looking for his son's name on the crosses. It was found, and they hugged.

12. You just KNOW........
that the "Pro-War, Pro-bush" animals will do something to provoke some sort of incident. Then there will be arrests, the entire peaceful protest will be blighted by these jackasses and both sides will be ordered to vacate the premises. I can see it unfolding like it's already happened.

Why can't those jerks just leave people alone. They've got their own government sponsored, Soviet style "May Day", take advantage of 9/11 for political purposes "freedom" celebration coming up, why don't they concentrate on that taxpayer funded shindig?

Bad things, man. Bad things.

15. Today the freepers messed up..
based on a blog from Annie Spell who was on the scene in Crawford:

http://www.upbeatdefiance.com/xoops/modules/news/

It's 1:15 PM at Camp Casey, and all but about 5 or 6 of the counter protesters have gone home. Seems maybe "the heat" was a bit too much for them. One of the only ones remaining is a guy holding up a sign that essentially says those at Camp Casey are traitors. Camp Casey is awaiting the arrival of a convoy of people coming from the rally held earlier today in Crawford so that they can start their on-site rally.

From what Annie said, it sounds like they've got a fairly nice set-up ready. One irony that Annie shared with me earlier - the counter protesters were busy doing their thing against Camp Casey this morning while most of Camp Casey was in Crawford for the big peace rally. Not particularly effective to protest against Camp Casey when most aren't there! Now that most of the camp is returning, the counter protesters have gone home. Whoops! Timing IS everything!

19. No numbers for the "Pro-Bush" thugs.
And also note that "Pro-Bush" is first in the title.

Making it look like the groups are equal in number.

Whores.

24. People in America have a "right" to say anything they want. It's called
"Freedom of Speech." Although, I don't believe Cindy ever compared Bush to Hussein, she has the "right" to, if she wants to.

25. I've never heard her compare * to saddam...
and if she did, she would be just plain wrong. She has the "right" and has sacrificed a son for that privilige.

* is far more a threat to civilization than saddam could ever have dreamed of being.

26. Yo, Zappo...
Got some news for you, bud. Although I don't recall Cindy ever comparing Commander Codpiece to Saddam Hussein, she has every right to, if she so desires. Just like I have every right to call that sorry sack of maggot-infested pus that currently occupies the White House a lying, drugged-out chickenshit coward. I can do that, you know. This is America. And if you don't like the rules here, I suggest you move to a country more conducive to your line of thinking. Since Iraq is so safe now, might I recommend it as your next home?

So, Zappo, this is the bottom line: America. Love it or leave it. (I've waited years to throw that line back in their oh-so-"patriotic" faces!) :grr:
