Harris campaigns in south Florida, where recount remains an issue

BOCA RATON, Fla. - (KRT) - Making her first foray into south Florida since jumping into the U.S. Senate race, Katherine Harris hopscotched over the Democratic stronghold of Broward County Friday where many still resent her for helping hand the presidency to George W. Bush in 2000.

Harris, Florida's chief election official during that turbulent presidential recount, met with members of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Boca Raton before traveling to Miami for more appearances.

Broward politicians in both parties said her resume - granddaughter of the millionaire citrus, real estate and cattle baron Ben Hill Griffin Jr., a stint in the Legislature, elected statewide as secretary of state, member of Congress from Sarasota, master's degree from Harvard - is overshadowed by her role in 2000. Her rulings on the recount were interpreted by Democrats as aiding Bush, whose Florida campaign she co-chaired.

Harris is a Republican star whose national notoriety makes her a formidable fundraiser, said Edward Pozzuoli, who as former chairman of the Broward GOP remains one of the party's most powerful behind-the-scenes forces.

2. I'd like to see Bill Nelson call Harris by her real name
Cruella DeVil, only instead of trying to kill 101 Dalmatian puppies for a fur coat, she killed 50 million votes for Bush!

Short of being caught with a young boy in his bed, Nelson will in with near 60% of the vote I bet.

6. You may be correct
in that 60% will believe they cast votes for Nelson... But it is also the state that purged 70,000 names from the rolls in 2000 and where 50,000 voted for Buchanan along with other assorted shenanigans all to just get the boy king close enough to allow SCOTUS to decide things. Nelson damn well BETTER have a hugh plurality so the stealing would be obvious.

5. Perhaps Harris Could Share A Poster With Batista
Perhaps Katherine Harris could share a poster with an image of Fugencio Batista, another villain who made a mockery of the concept of free and fair elections.

7. Scary Thought
I have put up with a lot over the past 5 years, but I would probably crack if Harris were to win a seat in the Senate.

8. If Harris beats Nelson, you will know the fat lady has sang.

It will be all over for the Democratic party everywhere in the country. Because if they can fix that one, they can fix them all.

She was on Hardball as I was channel surfing the other night and regardless of all the crap she pulled in 2000, she is just not Senate material. She was unbelievably bad, and the poor thing, I guess so many people have made comments about her eye make-up, it appeared she was trying to go bare minimum and it looked like she had a bad headache. Squint, squint. I'm not knocking her looks, I'm saying she isn't Senate material. Just compare this woman's thinking and speaking ability to Hilary Clinton's. I think there are many Republicans who think the same. But, you vote your party, especially in this political climate. So, who knows?
