ONN: Taft Pushed For Investment In Biotechnology Firm

http://www.onnnews.com/Global/story.asp?S=3692302&nav=Lrzsd2tS

A newspaper reports that Governor Taft in early 2003 encouraged the state's fund for injured workers to invest in a Cleveland biotechnology firm.

Democrats say Taft was rewarding a political contributor. Company officials gave Taft more than ten-thousand dollars during his 2002 re-election campaign.

The company's stem-cell project was eventually scrapped and the bureau did not invest.
