Antiwar protester Sheehan to move campsite
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - Antiwar protester Cindy Sheehan, whose son was killed in Iraq, is moving her camp closer to President George W. Bush's Texas ranch.

The piece of private property was offered by a relative of a man who had a fired shotgun in frustration over the protests, a source in the Sheehan camp said. The property owner is also a veteran.

"A neighbour of President Bush's has offered us his land," the source said. "It's got plenty of acreage for us, it's private land, we would have legal permission to be on it, it's much closer to the ranch -- in fact it's across the street from his (Bush's) church."

Sheehan was expected to begin moving as early as Wednesday morning.

with the space, I'll bet more people will be staying...it'll be safer and on private property, anyone that messes with them can now be charged with traspassing at least...

On edit: why isn't this in the U.S. papers? Or making it big on the "liberal news"?

I also think this is like his neighbors also giving ** the hint of how welcome he is even in Crawford...

12. Bush's Neighbor Lets Protesters Camp on His Land (The dove hunters cousin)
http://www.kxxv.com/main.cfm?ID=1&NewsID=2146&Type=Full

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) _ One of President Bush's neighbors has offered the free use of his land to dozens of war protesters who have camped in roadside ditches the past eleven days.

Fred Mattlage, an Army veteran, said he sympathizes with the demonstrators whose makeshift camp off the winding road leading to Bush's ranch has angered most residents. snip

Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville, California, started the vigil to honor her son Casey, who died in Iraq last year. Sheehan vows to remain through Bush's visit unless he meets with her. Mattlage told the Associated Press tonight that he thinks people should have a right to protest without being harassed.

He says he is against the war.

33. Oh But the True Test of MSM Importance will be ...
Here's the challenge: Will this high tension, high emotion, high importance "Camp Casey Saga" reach the level of significance as to encourage FOX's Greta VanSustern to move from Aruba to Crawford? Will Greta be able to refocus from a missing White Adult Woman from Alabama, to a grieving Iraqi War Mother and those who support her quest for truth? Can such a developing news story jerk the publics emotions around enough to milk the ratings from MSNBC and/or CNN?

In brief, will the developing situation at Camp Casey meet those seemingly all important FOX Corporate Whore Media Criteria?

34. Never, they are too much into ignoring the truth
and creating their own news. Their ratings will continue to drop but they have enough money from the government, and repuke campaign dollars they don't care. Fox would like to make money but they are not in it for money. They are in it for the propaganda and power.

39. Now harassment of people going to the location will begin
Now that they can't harass Cindy's group on the side of the road, the angry right will begin blocking the road to the site and harassing people in town.

But that's OK. It will only make Cindy look better and better in the eyes of US citizens.

40. CNN: Crawford protest moves nearer to Bush
Crawford protest moves nearer to Bush
Wednesday, August 17, 2005; Posted: 9:16 a.m. EDT

(AP photo)
Cindy Sheehan's vigil to meet with President Bush is entering its second week in Crawford, Texas.

CRAWFORD, Texas (CNN) -- Anti-war demonstrators led by the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq will move their campsite closer to President Bush's Texas ranch.

The new site, offered by a sympathetic landowner, is just a mile from Bush's Crawford home.

The landowner is a relative of Larry Mattlage, the local rancher who fired shots into the air Sunday, saying he was preparing for "dove season," said Sheehan, the aggrieved mother.

"This just shows me that the universe is blessing our efforts out here at Camp Casey," she said late Tuesday, referring to the camp named after her 24-year-old son.

She said demonstrators would be relocating "within the next few days."...
