'African' group not what it seems

PORTLAND -- A seemingly run-of-the-mill application for a park permit turned out to be a request to hold a concert and gathering for white supremacists today in the Columbia River Gorge town of Cascade Locks, officials said Friday.

"About a month ago we had an individual show up at the port who wanted to rent a picnic area in a public park for about 200 people, and he indicated they were holding an event for displaced African farmers," said Chuck Daughtry, general manager of the Port of Cascade Locks.

The port granted the request to Randall Krager, leader of the Volksfront, a Portland-based white supremacist group, before learning who he was earlier this week, Daughtry said.

The Volksfront Web site advertises the event as AryanFest '05, a fund-raiser to benefit "displaced and persecuted South African whites."

Volksfront - loosely translates into 'the people's front.' I would've questioned it at the time of the request.

No, I don't think so. It's right on the Columbia River; it's small, maybe 2000 people. It doesn't have a police force. It's not far from this magnificant place - the Bridge of the Gods which crosses the Columbia River connecting Washington & Oregon.

Since he claimed that they'd said the event was a benefit for African farmers.

As far as I'd heard, the Republic of South Africa wasn't doing the kinds of things which have been causing problems in Zimbabwe (driving white farmers off their land and redistributing it forcibly).

19. No Agenda- The Truth

Sorry I am not too concerned with runaway bride or Pope or Schiavo or McNews. As you can see all of these reports are accurate. Freeper? Furthest from it. Willing to face the ugly realities to move to another better place? You bet. The sooner we get our heads out of the sand the better.

The earth is figuratively and literally on fire do you not see that? The agenda if any is to awaken people. Being politically comfortable may make you feel nice but we are in deeper water than perhaps we care to admit.

Seeing things and remaining quiet about them will change nothing, not even ourselves. But saying things - having the courage to testify to our own forbidden knowledge - could be the way the world changes.

20. I'm not tracking sintax's posts

so I don't know what she or he is posting. I know in this instance it's pretty relevant. It's nearly in my backyard and Idaho has some of our little neo-nazis, although the Aryan Nations did lose their complex a few years ago in a lawsuit and have since 'moved' their headquarters. I also know a terrific website by David Neiwert, who does follow groups such as Volksfront and has written a couple of books. One such book is entitled: In God's Country: The Patriot Movement and the Pacific Northwest
