Bush 'very hopeful' about Iraqi draft constitution
US President George W. Bush is "very hopeful" that Iraqi political leaders will overcome disagreements and agree on a draft constitution, the White House said Monday.

"We're monitoring the events very closely, and very hopeful that they will have a constitution," spokesman Trent Duffy said as Bush traveled here to give a speech defending the Iraq war to 15,000 military veterans.

1. Latest version
Does the latest version still send anyone with a vagina back to the stone age (or should I stay stoned age)?

What I saw last was pretty despicable.

3. The RW talking point will be--They have a constitution--NOT what type
it will be --and for the most part the media will jump with joy.

10. Too much to hope for
in the middle east right now.

Sadly, it's too much to hope for here, right now either.

6. No matter how or when
the headline will be Constitution for democracy reached in record time. A legacy accomplishment victory for Bush, a tin trophy to place on top of the war dead's memorial. their biggest concession would be to admit the phrase "extended deadline" no matter the length of that extension. Again this would only be pap for the most ignorant diehard Bush fans were it not for the silence of the media in casting light on the sorry sham of making a second Iran with hopes of betraying both countries whatever form of government they might wish to choose.

8. This sentence tells it all:
"We're monitoring events very closely".

Meaning = we're making sure everything they do will be slanted in favor of the U.S. Oil? It'll be ours!!! Infrastructure? We'll do it!!!

Road building, hospitals, schools? It's in the bag!!!

Security? Made in USA.

9. As an invader George doesn't
measure up to successful invaders like Alexander the Great. A successful invader with change in mind keeps a strong hand in the changes. His use of 'political correctness'in allowing the Iraqis to determine their constitution puts him in the league of losers in the annals of history. (sarcasm)

11. He put himself in a real bind.
He said he wanted democracy there and for them to make up their own minds. He then can't step in and say I don't like how you made up your minds. What a mess

12. Wasn't he "hopeful" that they'd finish the constitution "on time?"
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 01:29 PM by Mithras61
What do you bet that this hoping gets him about the same as his last hoping?

Maybe he should "hope" into one hand...
