Reid Set to Make Appearance After Stroke
LAS VEGAS - Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada plans to make his first public appearance since suffering a brief mini-stroke that aides said caused no complications.

Reid, 65, will take part in an event Wednesday that he is co-sponsoring for religious leaders and social service advocates in North Las Vegas. Dubbed a faith-based services symposium, it was organized to draw attention to community needs.

"He'll be there," spokeswoman Tessa Hafen said Tuesday. "He's feeling good."

Reid canceled several public appearances in Nevada last week and spent the weekend with family and friends after experiencing dizziness Aug. 16 at home in Searchlight.

Aides disclosed his medical condition Friday, saying doctors at a Las Vegas hospital determined Reid suffered a transient ischemic attack. The condition is described as a brief interruption of blood supply to part of the brain.

1. get well, Senator
Hope he is getting a much needed rest and that he will make the most deliberate, appropriate recovery.

2. I wish his health also, but who
is there in the wings to stand in his place should he not be as well as one could hope he will be? Any thoughts?

3. Uh...Durbin...Reid's Assistant
I think he's doing a great job. But I honestly hope Reid doesn't have to leave. But Durbin would be great.

4. Even during an Ischemic attack

his brain has to be getting more blood and functioning at a higher level than that of Adult Alcohol Syndrome sufferer Bush.
