Sullivan calls on Bradley, Henderson to Renounce Robertson
http://www.politicsnh.com/press_releases/2005/August/8_25sullivan.htm

(MANCHESTER) State Rep. Peter Sullivan today called upon Congressman Jeb Bradley and New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Warren Henderson to renounce statements made by Republican televangelist Pat Robertson calling for the assasination of the President of Venezuela.

"Pat Robertson is a foul blight on the American political landscape. His call for the assasination of Hugo Chavez is morally repugnant for a self-described clergyman, and diametrically opposed to the core values of the Christian faith", said Sullivan.

"Congressman Bradley and Chairman Henderson have a moral obligation to clearly and unambiguously renounce the lunacy of Pat Robertson. To allow his irresponsible remarks to go unchallenged is to tacitly condone their content."

1. A phone call from Sullivan to Bradley:
Sullivan: (is agitated) Well, aren't you going to say something? You know Pat went too far this time.

Bradley: (smooth) I don't know....I think Pat did a good thing. You know how Cheney feels about Chavez. After all, Pat got in a few good jabs there.....you know, Dictator and all that. What else did he say? Oh yeah, Strongman. That was good.

Sullivan: (upset now). Are you going to denounce him or not? Look, the American public is pretty shocked about this. You don't want them to get the wrong idea about religious leaders, do you? With their influence in high places.

Bradley: (cheerful) Let's wait a few days. I have a really good feeling about this. Don't count your chickens till they're hatched. Find out if the donations are going down on the CBN. If the 700 Club isn't feeling the pinch, why should we?
