Senate May Hold Hearings on Able Danger, Info Sharing
Thursday, August 25, 2005

Able Danger (search) is the code name for a military-intelligence unit that apparently learned a year before the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that lead hijacker Mohamed Atta (search) and other terrorists were already in the United States.

One of the central Able Danger claims — that military lawyers blocked the sharing of the Atta information from the FBI in the late summer and early fall of 2000 — will be a focus of the committee's if a hearing takes place, FOX News has confirmed.

Some analysts involved with Able Danger have recently gone public with their findings, saying they were discouraged from looking further into Atta, and their attempts to share their information with the FBI were thwarted, because Atta was a legal foreign visitor at the time.

"This story needs to be told. The American people need to be told what could have been done to prevent 3,000 people from losing their lives," said Rep. Curt Weldon (search), R-Pa.

Weldon drew attention to Able Danger by speaking about it on the House floor and publicly calling for the Sept. 11 commission to explain why the intelligence information wasn't detailed in its final report.

Some Able Danger analysts, including Army Reserve Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer (search) and Navy Capt. Scott Phillpott (search), claim that in October 2003, they told commission staffers of the presence of Al Qaeda operatives in the United States in 2000.

4. COVER ATTA'S FACE WITH POST IT NOTES Schoomaker & Zelikow

DIA Agents were ordered to put yellow Post-its over Atta's face and the face's of 3 other 9/11 terrorists

"We were directed to take those 3M yellow stickers and place them over the faces of Atta and the other terrorists and pretend they didn't exist," the intelligence officer told GSN."

Intel agents Michael Shaffer and Scott Philpott have confirmed Rep. Weldon's claims that a chart with Atta's face, soon the photos of 3 other members of the 9-11 terror team, were known to DIA team Able Danger by early 2000.

This diary will show that Pete Schoomaker and Philip Zelikow are two of the main Perpetraitors in this scandal, that they deliberately withheld information from the President of the United States that would have prevented 9/11, that they and their neo-con rulers Let It Happen On Purpose.

Of this there can no longer be any doubt.

The focus is on 'information sharing' and they are ridiculously blaming the bottleneck on Able Danger info to the speedbumps that protect US citizens from having the DOD keep intelligence files on them.

6. I'm surprised Specter is fooling around with this
Its a RW kook story and it will burn anybody with a previously good reputation who associates themselves with it. Media Matters for America has some good articles on the Able Danger hoax. Outfits like Faux News will still run with the Able Danger story so they can blame Bill Clinton for 9/11.

The CIA has concluded its investigation of intelligence handling leading up to 9/11. It hasn't been released yet. My guess is that anything that happened after Clinton left office will be kept classified, and anything that went wrong while Clinton was still in office will be published or at least leaked. Then the RWs will go on to the new story about Clinton causing 9/11 and let the Able Danger matter die out.

The media will give the RW version of all of this, rather than having to explain why they never let the public know about Bush calling off the hunt for Bin Laden or refusing to hear anything from his staff about terrorism. The media also never told anyone that there was no such thing as the "Gorelick wall" or that John Ashcroft made up the whole Gorelick wall story to distract attention from his perjury before the 9/11 commission, and the reasons behind it. It will be much easier for the media to take the "Its Bill Clinton's fault" approach.

There's no sense in anyone on the left pushing this story, unless they hate Bill Clinton. That's who is most likely to get hurt by this.

17. There's more information on this on Media Matters for America
Shaffer now admits that he had no first hand knowledge. That all came from Philpott, who is only one person. There have been inconsistencies in both their stories.

The 9/11 Commission can't find any evidence. The Pentagon can't find any evidence. There wasn't even any law barring the Pentagon from sharing information if they had it.

When I see one person with an incredible story claiming that everybody but him is lying, I just take it for granted then that the guy with the incredible story is the one who is lying. A sloppy method of deciding perhaps, but its never failed me.

7. Limpballs has been talking up the Able Danger story
and Gorelick ...anything they can to take the heat off Bushco for the lies and distortions they spewed to go to war with Iraq...which is failing to become the democracy they wanted turning to an Islamic theocracy.

This administration had plenty of information to prevent 911. Ashcroft stopped flying commercial flights months before it happened. They couldn't issue a "terror alert" to the public not to fly because the airlines were facing bankruptcy. Airlines are always facing financial problems but an alert like that would have shut down all but one or two companies. Furthermore, Bushco had their heads up their asses and only had dreams of taking over Iraq and ousting Saddam not Al Qaida. Remember the "historical" PDB where Bin Laden had planned to attack America?

Why in the hell these insidious windbags on talk radio want to blame Clinton and Gorelick for 911 is beyond me. It occurred under Dubya Dumbass's watch. All the evidence says they didn't do enough to prevent it. Hell, Condi even admitted that no one could imagine someone flying a plane into a building even with that information under her nose. I'm all for a full and complete 911 investigation that doesn't limit the scope of the investigation and we should also investigate the circumstances of why we went to war with Iraq and hold those people accountable. If were going to spend taxpayers money, lets investigate the whole 9 yards and leave no stone unturned.

15. Able Danger is a Pandora's Box that will blow up in the RW's face.
Re-open the 9/11 investigation? BRING IT ON! Here's why:

So the responsibility for stopping DIA program Able Danger, which had Identified Atta and 3 other hijackers and linked them to 56 other al-Queda terrorists overseas, has been laid at the feet of Bill Clinton--except he and Richard Clarke were never told about it at all.

That's right. Bill Clinton was never told about Able Danger and the ID of Atta because Richard Clarke was never told about AD. How do I know? He never wrote about it in his book, nor did he testify about it's existence before the 9-11 Commission!

You see Richard Clarke was known for being obsessed with Osama Bin Laden and HE was the guy the neo-con moles did not want to find out about Atta and the gang. Schoomaker and the neo-cons knew telling the FBI would inform Clarke and then Mr. Laser Beam himself, President of the United State William Jefferson Clinton, would have gotten involved--and the Pearl Harbor-type attack would never take place (the neo-cons talked about the need for a Pearl Harbor-type attack before the PNAC Plan would be accepted by the American people--so when one presented itself, they let it happen).

General Pete Schoomaker, who were later heavily rewarded by the neo-cons in the Bush Administration, blocked the upward motion of the DIA information by having Shaffer and Philpott meet with Pentagon lawyers opinions--lawyers who were rubberstamping ridiculous legal opinions to carry out the neo-con plan. These certain people were neo-cons in the Clinton Administration, covertly carrying out the PNAC plan to let a Pearl Harbor-type attack occur so Iraq and 6 other countries could be invaded.

20. Nice job of weaving
these latest developments into a big and quite visible chronological narrative representing the REAL chain of awful events.

Countless Internet bloggers deserve a great deal of credit for mining vast databases hour-by-hour for almost 4 years running, then cross-referencing like crazy toward vividly displaying the poison-filled treasonous actions of PNAC and Co. for all who care to see.

This is a story that, for me, ties in with the Minnesota FBI agent who was on to Z. Moussaoui, then she became so stunned by D.C. HDQ.'s perplexingly "squelch-it" attitude. Guess we'll be seeing more of this tale, by and by.

I can't remember if that was her case, but I do remember reports that the FBI agents who were trying to forward this info to their higher-ups voiced their frustration that it seemed like anyone in a position to clamp down on this acted like they were "enabling al-Qaeda".

All of which the 9/11 Commission sugarcoated in their Report.

announced a run for a Congress in Minnesota's 2nd Cong. Dist.

She and a state senator up there who just lost a son in Iraq (Becky Lourey) made a trip down to Camp Casey last weekend to give Cindy Sheehan and Friends tangible support.

I've had a powerful sense since she first went public with her concerns re 9/11 that she is not someone who will just throw up her hands and exclaim "Oh Well, I Give Up!"

When September dawns, I hope to figure out ways to support her candidacy, even tho' I'm two states due south of her.

53. Yep. And Wes Clark knows exactly which seven were named.
Afghanistan wasn't even on the list, probably because, to paraphrase either Rumsfeld or Wolfowitz (I forget who, they all sound alike) there weren't enough good targets in Afghanistan. Here's a link to what Wes Clark knows:

7 Muslim Countries Were On U.S. War List: Wesley Clark

WASHINGTON, September 22 (IslamOnline.net) - U.S. Presidential hopeful Wesley Clark, the former general who led NATO forces during the Kosovo campaign, revealed on Monday, September 22, that the Bush administration had set-up a five-year plan to invade seven Muslim countries after the 9/11 attacks, beginning with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia, and finally Sudan.

In his book "The Clark Critique" excerpts of which were published by this week's Newsweek edition, the four-star retired general wrote that following the September attacks, the U.S. administration became preoccupied with the idea of "state sponsorship" and "draining the swamp" of terrorism.

"In the aftermath of the attacks of September 11, many in the Bush administration seemed most focused on a prospective move against Iraq. This was the old idea of state sponsorship-even though there was no evidence of Iraqi sponsorship of 9/11 whatsoever," the anti-Iraqi war Democrat said.

"But there was more. This was being discussed as part of a five-year campaign plan and there were a total of seven countries, beginning with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia, and Sudan."

65. Plausible denialbility?
I've always thought it odd that W was not part on the PNAC roster...yet brother Jeb and all the top players in his administration were. Why was that?

(1) A useful idiot? Not back in 2000.
(2) The plan was in place, but George's role was to be the obessed guy who wanted to "git Saddam" and avenge his father's near assassination? He'd be the chief executive and couldn't have his name on document. The plan was to get into the ME, run through Iraq, then Syria, then......only thing missing was a "Pearl Harbor" type event.

So PNAC is formulated in 96....makes you wonder who else was "on board" in 2000. Scalia? Thomas?

Can anyone explain why these people put their agenda up on the web? I mean, it boggles my mind that they'd plan, amongst themselves, to take on the Muslim world.....and then leave the evidence on the web for everyone to find.

61. Thank you.....the missing link.
I kind of had a gut feeling that this is what happened. I have no doubt that there were people in strategic places in Clinton's administration who had other priorities. Rummy, Dick, and Co. had lots of contacts in BC's administration that served them in GHWB's administration. No doubt that many were not really serving Bill's agenda, but were doing whatever needed for the PNAC crew.

I've been wondering who was railroading the information into a neo-con dead end. I've thought that BC was getting bad counseling/intelligence at a very early on in his administration....maybe including the Bush assassination attempt in Kuwait. Makes me wonder about the targeting of OBL when we hit the Sudan milk plant, too. Was that a set-up to embarass him? Hmmmm.

I agree, let's open the box and air it out. I suspect that Weldon is a fool and not understanding the complexities of this case. I'd say that it is time to re-open the 9/11 investigation and shine a very bright light on the channels of info between CIA/FBI/DIA.

24. Senate panel chair asks FBI for Atta info
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 10:54 PM by seemslikeadream
KIMBERLY HEFLING
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee asked the FBI to hand over all information about a secret military intelligence unit that purportedly identified Sept. 11 mastermind Mohamed Atta as a terrorist a year before the terrorism attacks.

Two military officers, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer and Capt. Scott Philpott, contend that a unit code-named "Able Danger" used data mining - searching large amounts of data for patterns - to identify Atta in 2000. Shaffer has said three other Sept. 11 hijackers were also identified.

In a letter to FBI director Robert Mueller, Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., asked the agency for "all information and documents it has" on Able Danger, Shaffer, Philpott and any other people linked to the operation. The letter, dated Wednesday and distributed Thursday to reporters, also seeks a meeting between Specter's staff and FBI agent Xanthig Mangum.

A handwritten note at the bottom says, "Bob, I'd like to move head on this ASAP."

...

Shaffer claims to have contacted Mangum about setting up a meeting with the FBI to discuss Able Danger findings but was told by military attorneys he could not go because of concerns about the legality of gathering and sharing information on people in the United States, Specter wrote.

Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said Thursday that the stories told by Shaffer and Philpott match. But no evidence has been found that would support their claims that any Sept. 11 hijackers were identified by Able Danger, Whitman said.

Shaffer and Philpott have said they made comments to the Sept. 11 commission about Able Danger and its findings, but were not taken seriously. If proven correct, the intelligence would change the timeline for when government officials first learned of Atta's links to al-Qaida.

True enough. But Weldon is determined to get it out in the open. He said that this is not a story that only Shaffer is prepared to tell, that "eventually eight to 12 others will come forward."

A small group of Defense Intelligence Agency employees ran the Able Danger operation from fall 1999 to February 2001 - just seven months before the terrorist attacks - when the operation was unceremoniously axed, according to a former defense intelligence official familiar with the program. The former official asked not to be identified.

ARE THEY GOING TO "SWIFT BOAT" THE PETAGON AGAIN? (call the DoD liars)

refers to in his book "Crossing the Rubicon"...(can't think of its name right now)....

Anyway, I personally don't know if this story about the "Able Danger" unit is a hoax....and even if it was, I don't see anything but bad news for Bush and the neo-cons here...

37. There are many other National Security Veterans/Experts
The Following National Security Whistleblowers were turned away, refused, or ignored by the 9/11 Commission, even though they had direct & relevant information related to the Commission’s investigation:

John M. Cole (Senior Counterintelligence Operations Manager-FBI) – He notified the 9/11 Commission during its investigation and never received response; also his name & contact information were provided to the Commission as key witness (Program manager for Pakistan & Afghanistan; has relevant information to 9/11 terrorist attack) by others, but he was not contacted.

Bio:
John M. Cole, Former Veteran Intelligence Operations Specialist, worked for 18 years in the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division as an Intelligence Operations specialist. Beginning in 1999, he discovered and began reporting serious issues of mismanagement, gross negligence, waste of government funds, security breaches, cover-ups, and intentional blocking of intelligence that had national security implications. He wrote these issues in several letters to FBI management, to include Director Mueller to no avail. After he reported these acts to FBI management, he was retaliated against, suspended and ultimately left the FBI in March 2004.

Bogdan Dzakovic (Former Red Team Leader-FAA)- His testimony to the Commission was completely omitted from the final report.

Bio:
Bogdan Dzakovic is a former Coast Guard Officer, Federal Criminal Investigator and has a graduate degree in Security Administration. He has worked for the Security Division of the Federal Aviation Administration since 1987 as a Special Agent, as a Team Leader in the Federal Air Marshals, and from 1995 until September 11, 2001 was a Team Leader of the Red Team (terrorist team). He tried for several years prior to the 9-11 attacks to improve aviation security in the face of the ever-increasing terrorist threat. This included working through the established chain of command, with the Department of Transportation’s Office of Inspector General, with the General Accountability Office, and with members of both the House and Senate of the Congress of the United States. He filed a Whistleblower Case against the Federal Aviation Administration and testified at the 9-11 Commission.

Sibel Edmonds (Language Specialist-FBI) - She was refused twice; was given interview only after the Jersey Moms intervened directly; however, her testimony was censored by the Commission.

Bio:
Sibel Edmonds worked as a language specialist for the FBI’s Washington Field Office. During her work with the bureau, she discovered and reported serious acts of security breaches, cover-ups, and intentional blocking of intelligence that had national security implications. After she reported these acts to FBI management, she was retaliated against by the FBI and ultimately fired in March 2002. Since that time, court proceedings on her issues have been blocked by the assertion of “State Secret Privilege” by Attorney General Ashcroft; the Congress of the United States has been gagged and prevented from any discussion of her case through retroactive re-classification by the Department of Justice. Ms. Edmonds is fluent in Turkish, Farsi and Azerbaijani; and has a MA in Public Policy and International Commerce from George Mason University, and a BA in Criminal Justice and Psychology from George Washington University. (www.justacitizen.com )

Behrooz Sarshar (Language Specialist-FBI) - He was refused twice; was given interview only after the Jersey Moms intervened directly; however, his testimony was completely removed from the commission’s final report.

Melvin A. Goodman (Former Senior Analyst/ Division Manager-CIA)- He Contacted the Commission but was not interviewed.

Bio:
Melvin Goodman is senior fellow at the Center for International Policy in Washington, DC and adjunct professor of international relations at Johns Hopkins University. He served at the CIA as senior Soviet analyst from 1966-1990 and as professor of international security at the National War College from 1986-2004. He resigned from the CIA in 1990 to protest the politicization of intelligence on the Soviet Union and testified to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence in 1991 against the confirmation of Robert M. Gates as director of central intelligence. At the time of his resignation, Goodman was a member of the Senior Intelligence Staff. He is the author and co-author of five books on international relations including "The Wars of Eduard Shevardnadze," "The Phantom Defense: America's Pursuit of the Star Wars Illusion," and "Bush League Diplomacy: How the Neoconservatives are Putting the World at Risk."

Gilbert Graham (Retired Special Agent, Counterintelligence-FBI) – His name & contact information were provided to the Commission as key witness in February 2004, although he was willing to provide the Commission with information he was never contacted

Coleen Rowley (Retired Division Counsel- FBI) – The commission chose to only rely upon transcripts from the Joint Senate-House Intel Inquiry

FBI Minneapolis Field office – As far as Ms. Rowley is aware, no one from the FBI Minneapolis (3-4 Agents with direct information) was asked to provide testimony/info to the 9/11 Commission

John Vincent (Retired Special Agent, Counterterrorism-FBI) – He was granted an interview but the commissioners’ investigators refused to ask questions Re: info. Related to his case & 9/11 and insisted on asking only administrative and irrelevant questions.

Bio:
John Vincent is a graduate of law school. He spent two years in the US Army, one year
working for a US Congressman, and two years working in state government
lawmaking. He joined the FBI in 1975 and worked there for 27 1/2 years
before retiring in 2002. He worked his last 8 years in counter terrorism.
Mr. Vincent, along with Robert Wright exposed the inefficiencies within the FBI
in working counter terrorism cases.

Robert Wright (Veteran Special Agent, Counterterrorism-FBI) - FBI refused to allow Wright to testify, but the Commission did not insist or attempted to subpoena Wright; despite the fact that it was given subpoena power.

Mark Burton (Senior Analyst- NSA) – Provided dozens of pages of information/testimony to the 9/11 Commission, but was completely ignored and never asked to testify.

Bio:
Mark Burton served as an all-source threat analyst in NSA’s Information Assurance Directorate (IAD) for most of his 16-year career. He was the editor of IAD’s premier threat document; the 300+ page ISSO Global Threat Summary, and was an adjunct faculty member at NSA’s National Cryptologic School. During a three-year ICAP tour at the Army’s National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC), he was treated so poorly that he chose to resign from public service. He later provided dozens of pages of draft testimony to the 9/11 Commission, but the Commission ignored him. He has since been blacklisted from Federal employment, apparently via the insertion of slanderous information into his official records. He has an MA in national security studies from Georgetown University.

Mike German (Special Agent, Counterterrorism-FBI) - Contacted the Commission in spring 2004, but did not receive any response from them. Had direct information Re: Ties between certain domestic terrorist group & Al Qaeda.

Bio:
Mike German served sixteen years as an FBI Special Agent and is one of the rare agents credited with actually having prevented acts of terrorism before it became the FBI's number one priority. In the early 1990s, Mike successfully infiltrated a Los Angeles white supremacist group that was engaged in a bombing campaign against racial minorities. In the late 1990's, after the Oklahoma City bombing, he again went undercover against right-wing militia groups that were conspiring to harm federal agents. Both cases disrupted multiple terrorist cells and led to criminal convictions that prevented terrorist acts. In 2002 Mike reported gross mismanagement in a post 9/11 counterterrorism investigation, which included serious violations of FBI policy and federal law. Despite his record Mike was prevented from working on other terrorism investigations in retaliation. Mike chose to resign from the FBI rather than remain silent about continuing failures in the FBI counterterrorism program.

Joe Mansour (Federal Bureau of Prison)

42. History PROVES that, the failure to enforce complete accountability,...
,...to enforce the law against those who hold direct responsibility for criminal and ethical and political abuses, leads to even worse consequences.

If we are prepared to hold those who fall within the lower 85% economic/political/social strata fully responsible for their actions then, those who are at the top of the economic/political/social strata should be doubly accountable since they are the ones who have the greatest power of influence which dictates MORE responsibility for their actions.

When are the application of high standards going to be applied where they belong: on those with the greatest influence? IMFO THAT is one of the fundamental failures and attacks on a healthy democracy that MUST BE ADDRESSED.

44. Kristen Breitweiser Enabling Danger

Enabling Danger (part one) (59 comments )
I want to apologize in advance for the length of this post. Nevertheless, I encourage everyone to read this in its entirety.

The press has recently been reporting on the issue of surveillance pertaining to four "key" 9/11 hijackers.

Specifically, Congressman Curt Weldon (R-Pa.) has gone public with accusations that the Pentagon had four of the 9/11 hijackers under its surveillance in December of 2000. Initial press accounts detailed that four of the 9/11 hijackers -- al Mihdhar, al Hazmi, al Shehi, and Atta -- were identified by a data mining operation (Project Able Danger) run out of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The revelation of this new information is astounding for two reasons. First, if true, this would mean that four of the key hijackers in the 9/11 plot were in the cross-hairs of our Pentagon one year prior to the attacks during the summer of 2000. Second, it raises credibility issues surrounding the 9/11 Commission since the Commission’s Final Report does not mention—let alone report upon—the Able Danger operation.

Let’s address the concept that DIA had four 9/11 hijackers identified as al Qaeda operatives in 2000. First, why was this information withheld from the FBI when it was allegedly collected by DIA back in the summer of 2000? Second, if this information was not passed to the FBI, was any of this information passed on to the CIA? Third, what difference would it have made if DIA had informed the FBI about these four al Qaeda targets? Fourth, if it indeed exists, where is the Able Danger chart that allegedly contains Atta’s name, and most importantly, have we capitalized on any other information or names contained in that chart?

Withholding from the FBI:

News reports state that the information regarding the 9/11 hijackers was not passed onto the FBI because Pentagon attorneys believed that the targets of the data-mining operation (the four 9/11 hijackers) were green card holders thereby banning the passage of this information to the FBI since laws were in place during the summer of 2000 that banned domestic surveillance of Americans by the FBI. Of course, the DOD attorneys were patently wrong in their interpretation since the four 9/11 hijackers that were identified were merely U.S. visa holders (some of which had already expired and/or were illegal). These men were not U.S. citizens—therefore, the information could have been readily passed to the FBI with no worry of breaking any rules or laws. Nevertheless, the Able Danger information did not get shared with the FBI. (The identities and whereabouts of the DOD attorneys who provided such wrong legal counsel remains unknown—which raises the obvious question as to whether these individuals are still working at DOD and making the same erroneous and deadly decisions.)

Third Source Backs 'Able Danger' Claims About Atta
Saturday, August 27, 2005

WASHINGTON — A third person has now come forward to verify claims made by a military intelligence unit that a year before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, it had information showing that lead hijacker Mohamed Atta (search) and other terrorists were identified as being in the United States.

J.D. Smith, a defense contractor who claims he worked on the technical side of the unit, code-named "Able Danger" (search), told reporters Friday that he helped gather open-source information (search), reported on government spending and helped generate charts associated with the unit's work. Able Danger was set up in the 1990s to track Al Qaeda activity worldwide.

"I am absolutely positive that he was on our chart among other pictures and ties that we were doing mainly based upon cells in New York City," Smith said.

Smith said data was gathered from a variety of sources, including about 30 or 40 individuals. He said they all had strong Middle Eastern connections and were paid for their information. Smith said Able Danger's photo of Atta was obtained from overseas.

Today's New York Post (27 August) carries a story by Niles Lathem entitled "Military 'Spied' on Rice." The good news is that the story ran at all. The bad news is the reporter demonstrated a brass-plated ignorance of how the Able Danger program operated.

The lead from the article says, "Cyber-sleuths working for a Pentagon intelligence unit that reportedly identified some of the 9/11 highjackers before the attack were fired by military officals, after they mistakenly pinpointed Secretary of State Rice and other prominent Americans as potential security risks..."

WTC Janitor Has Jersey City Apartment Burglarized

Journalist Wayne Madsen has left Washington over death threats and William Rodriguez, 9/11 truth-seeker, had his apartment burglarized. Both fit the description of the person supposedly targeted by the government.
August 27, 2005

By Greg Szymanski

Coming on the heels of reports today that government operatives are trying to assassinate someone highly critical of the Bush administration, William Rodriguez, the WTC janitor who has been speaking out across the nation about a 9/11 government conspiracy, came home to find his Jersey City apartment burglarized Saturday.

Rodriguez, who has damaging eye-witness testimony that bombs exploded in the WTC basement prior to the airplanes striking, said today his apartment was burglarized between 12:30pm and 7:50pm after retuning home and noticing his second-floor apartment door wide-open.

“I came home to find my door open,” said Rodriguez in a telephone conversation Saturday night from his apartment just after police left the crime scene. “They didn’t destroy the place, but took my lap top with all my vital information, as well as one of my video cameras and all of my girl friend’s jewelry, including an expensive engagement ring.”

Rodriguez expressed concern over the burglary since earlier in the day he received a “warning email” from contacts close to Washington investigative journalist Wayne Madsen, who received credible information his life may be in danger.

<>

"He not only claims he felt explosions coming from below the first sub-level while working in the basement, he says the walls were cracking around him and he pulled a man to safety by the name of Felipe David, who was severely burned from the basement explosions. All these events occurred only seconds before and during the jetliner strike above.... How could a jetliner hit 90 floors above and burn a man's arms and face to a crisp in the basement below within seconds of impact?" Szymanski writes. "Bush wants him quiet because Rodriguez's account is 'proof positive' the WTC was brought down by a controlled demolition, not burning jet fuel. And Bush knows if he's caught lying about this or caught in a cover-up, it's just a matter of time before the whole house of cards comes tumbling down."

MILITARY 'SPIED' ON RICE

By NILES LATHEM

August 27, 2005 -- WASHINGTON — Cyber-sleuths working for a Pentagon intelligence unit that reportedly identified some of the 9/11 hijackers before the attack were fired by military officials, after they mistakenly pinpointed Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other prominent Americans as potential security risks, The Post has learned.

The private contractors working for the counter-terrorism unit Able Danger lost their jobs in May 2000. The firings following a series of analyses that Pentagon lawyers feared were dangerously close to violating laws banning the military from spying on Americans, sources said.

The Pentagon canceled its contract with the private firm shortly after the analysts — who were working on identifying al Qaeda operatives — produced a particularly controversial chart on proliferation of sensitive technology to China, the sources said.

Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, the veteran Army officer who was the Defense Intelligence Agency liaison to Able Danger, told The Post China "had something to do" with the decision to restructure Able Danger.

I went over there to copy & post the documentation when Clinton was president, and he was trying to get OBL killed, but could not get the support to do it. He tried on several occassions.

Then -poof- the site is no longer there!!!!!

Able Danger: More Mysteries
Further questions about whether a data mining program identified Atta before 9/11
By BRIAN BENNETT AND TIMOTHY J. BURGER/WASHINGTON
SUBSCRIBE TO TIMEPRINTE-MAILMORE BY AUTHOR
Posted Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005
As questions continue to swirl around claims that the Pentagon failed to act on pre-September 11 intelligence about the hijackers, a Senate panel is trying to clear up a key mysteries surrounding the data-mining intel program known as "Able Danger." The Senate Intelligence Committee is asking the Pentagon to let it interview anyone who worked on Able Danger, and last week drafted a letter asking the White House for a copy of a chart that Congressman Curt Weldon claimed in a recent book he gave then-deputy national security adviser Steve Hadley just after the 9/11 attacks.

Weldon says in the book, Countdown to Terror, that the chart was produced by Able Danger before the attacks and pegged lead hijacker Mohammad Atta as a threat to the U.S. Hadley—since promoted to be President Bush's national security adviser—has refused to confirm or deny the claim. Whether such a chart existed and was given to Hadley could prove or greatly undermine claims by Weldon and a handful of members of the Able Danger team.

Though another Defense Department contractor last week backed up Weldon's story, former 9/11 commission chairman Tom Kean said in a statement earlier this month that all three commission aides who attended a 2003 interview at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan with Lt. Col Anthony Shaffer, an intelligence liason to Able Danger, do not remember Mohammad Atta's name coming up.

The panel also said that a Bush Administration lawyer—who, sources told TIME, was a National Security Council attorney present as a "minder" on behalf of the White House—agreed that Shaffer did not mention Atta's name. But Shaffer told TIME that he remembers specifically saying that the staff on the secret project had "found through the effort two of the three cells which conducted the 9/11 attack, to include Atta."

67. Very interesting.......
Well, we can expect Hadley to say he never received that chart...that's a given.

But the commision is going to find it tough not to take this seriously...even though Kean, Hamilton, et al are really not interested in getting to the bottom of what happened on 9/11.

It will be poetic justice and supreme irony if Weldon was trying to be a faithful hatchetman for Bush, thinking he was able to pin 9/11 on Clinton...only to be the catalyst for the downfall of Bush and this administration.

Missing Able Danger 'Atta' Chart in 2002 Video

A copy of the Able Danger chart that identified lead 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta as a terrorist operating inside the U.S. a year before the 9/11 attacks is clearly visible in a video of a 2002 speech by delivered by Rep. Curt Weldon to the Heritage Foundation.

68. From your Nesmax link....(chuckle)
"Weldon said Hadley was stunned after viewing the Al Qaeda-Atta document.

"This is unbelievable - where'd you get this?" he wanted to know.

After being told that the chart was prepared by military intelligence a year before the 9/11 attacks, Hadley said, according to Weldon, "I've got to show this to the man" - apparently referring to President Bush."

I'll bet Hadley was stunned. I'll bet he showed it to "the man". And I'll bet this is going to be a big problem for these guys....Weldon is lucky to still be alive.

Jack Abramoff, a member of a well oiled terrorist organization or tied directly to it. Its been labeled the RUIM in many circles and consists of many terrorists such as A.Q. Khan which are controlling proliferation and profiteering....PNAC is their feeding tube but the important thing here is this is a worldwide terrorist group.

Its also referred to as the Russian Ukraine Israeli Mafia, but the whole thing has scantly been touched precisely because of huge issues like Able Danger. Not just seeming to me a imperial communist agenda, do they have in mind, but also the total fall of the United States.

I'm not well acquainted with the whole mess but I can tell that no one wants to talk about it, or are otherwise cynical or unprepared to stand up to them or the State Department.
