2. Pat Robertson better not plan to do any sailing, if that's the case.
Dive, Pat, Dive.

3. Interesting. Apparently Bush doesn't believe any countries
with a non-European-descended President should be allowed to have any means of defending itself.

According to the Forbes article:
Venezuela has two submarines, which are currently being repaired.
I've heard ALL of their military equipment is very old, and needs replacement.

No reason Venezuela should remain helpless, since Bush started making threats, and sending huge chunks of change to his opposition, a little "walking around money," "long green," etc.

4. Remember when Chavez ordered about 100,000 Kalashnikov
rifles. RumsFailed came out and said, "Well, what on earth would they need those for? Goodness Gracious."

---------------------------

The most ironic thing about these Oil Wars is that the money Chavez uses to BUY all this stuff, comes from the U.S. It must drive Bush crazy.

He's helping Chavez fund his own protection.

but it simply showed him as the buffoon he is. If ONLY these Republicans could see themselves the way they really are. They'd be mortified. Not a shred of dignity in the whole party.

6. The military is indeed in need of refurbishing equipment
The last time major purchases were done was in the early 90's, the current pair of subs in particular were laid in the 60's or 70's.
