LIMA — Democratic Ohio House candidate Simeon Talley gave a strong criticism of Republican-led state government Thursday and promised reform and accountability in his bid for the 4th District.

Talley announced his candidacy at the monthly Allen County Democrat Party Chair’s lunch, telling the group state government has become bogged down in scandal.

“Tom Noe has had unfettered access to officials because he cheated and lied,” Talley said, referring to the rare coin dealer and Republican donor at the center of a state government investment scandal. “Meanwhile, Ohio comes in near to dead last in job creation, we devalue education and personal incomes decline. I’ll push for reform and demand accountability when you send me to the Statehouse.”

Talley, 21, originally from Columbus, is a senior at Bluffton University, where he is president of the Young Democrats. He has interned for U.S. Rep. Mary Kaptur, D-Toledo, and U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Cleveland. This is his first run for public office.
