Assembly Republicans gathered yesterday for a special legislative session on property tax reform, but found no Democrats waiting.
That's because a special session was actually never scheduled by Assembly Speaker Albio Sires, D-West New York.
So minority Republicans instead lobbed criticism toward majority Democrats, blaming them for state woes and charging them with avoiding action on a leading concern - the state's highest-in-the-nation property taxes.
"The people of New Jersey have waited long enough for relief," said Assembly Minority Leader Alex DeCroce, R-Parsippany-Troy Hills.
