Judge says he would send Posada to Venezuela
ISN SECURITY WATCH (30/08/05) -- In a surprise move, a US immigration judge said he will send an accused Cuban terrorist to Venezuela if Luis Posada Carriles is denied asylum in the US.
However judicial officials said the decision could be suspended if Posada Carriles faced torture at the hands of authorities in Venezuela, who want him on terrorism-related charges dating back to the 1970s.
It is the first time since the Posada saga began in March, when he crossed into the US illegally from Mexico, that any US officials have mentioned a possible deportation locale for the 77-year-old.
The Justice Department has said it would not send Posada to Cuba, where is wanted on terror and assassination attempt charges, saying they know full well what fate he would meet there.
Following Monday's opening of his trial in El Paso, Texas, Homeland Security officials reacted to Judge William Abbott's remarks, saying the US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement does not generally send people to countries who may be acting in Cuba's behalf, as it perceives Venezuela would.>>>>.snip

4. They have dibs on him already. He escaped from their prison
as Luis Posada Carriles has bragged himself, detailing in an interview with two New York Times reporters, claiming the Cuban American National Foundation in Miami bribed prison guards in Venezuela, and he simply walked out of the jail.

Venezuela has the right to reclaim him.

Only the most laughable clowns you could get to work in government, piling out of their tiny car, would even dare suggest Venezuela would take this human garbage with the eyes of the world watching and proceed to torture him after getting him back on Venezeulan soil.

He IS a naturalized Venezuelan citizen. He went through that already in order for their slimey President Carlos Andres Perez, who was later impeached for corruption (who remains a good friend of George H. W. Bush and the rabid right-wing Miami Cuban "exiles"), to include him in his government as a high ranking officer in his secret police.

Posada Carriles BELONGS IN VENEZLUELA. To pretend they would torture him would be to spin even more obnoxious MEpublican lies. God knows we're used to that.

5. Asylum in the US for terrorists. It's disgusting that the rest of the
world hasn't cut us off already, just as we did with Zuid Afrika.

6. Venezuela doesn't even have the death penalty. It's more humane than U.S.
The reason Posada is here is because he escaped from a Venezuelan prison. Their maximum security must be like our minimum security.

7. The Escape Was Arranged Between The Government And The CIA.
The President of Venezuela at the time of of Posada's
arranged escape from prison was
Extreme Right Wing Fascist AD Party,
President Jaime Lusinchi
("Only Fools Pay Income Taxes!")
beneficiary of the CIA's
"National Endowment For Democracy"
and close friend of President Ronald Reagan.
