U.S. Soldier Killed in Attack on Baghdad Hotel |
|
AGHDAD, Oct. 26 — Anti-American guerrillas blasted the Baghdad hotel where U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz was staying with a barrage of rockets on Sunday, but the No. 2 Pentagon official survived unharmed, U.S. officials said.
The brazen attack killed a U.S. soldier but a defiant Wolfowitz vowed that the United States would not be cowed into abandoning Iraq.
Fifteen people were also wounded in the strike that is a setback for the Bush administration, undermining its insistence the United States is winning the guerrilla war in Iraq despite escalating violence.

3. Yup--Wolfowitz says the US will not be "cowed" |
|
Bring em on--right?
There is a certain stupidity unworthy of leaders in the US government, in failing to see when it is time to withdraw from a venture that is deteriorating day by day and in which the failure to properly execute the venture must be admitted before another life is sacrificed. Another soldier killed--this one guarding one of the ploting liars whose lies got him there in the first place--

is one of the most hawkish of the PNAC'ers. I am glad that he is getting to see first hand the results of his policies. he goes to Iraq to emphasize the positive and he almost gets killed. Spin this one Paul.
