BBC: Iraq curfew lifted for Ramadan (security situation has improved)
-snips-

Coalition forces in Iraq have lifted the curfew for the holy month of Ramadan.

A curfew has been in place since the end of the war, but coalition officials say the lifting of the curfew early on Sunday morning was possible because the security situation has improved.

3. Security situation has improved?

The curfew was lifted because it would be unenforcable. Muslims fast during daylight hours. At sundown they all head for a big meal wherever that might be. Imagine 130,000 troops trying to stop 26 million Iraquis from celebrating their religious customs. Imagine telling Americans they had to stay indoors over Christmas. More propaganda from the BFEE.
