Schwarzenegger 'snub' (of chimp) prompts criticism
Democratic leaders said the Republican governor should be pressing Bush for more federal funds instead of worrying about the president's fundraising. And Republican analysts also questioned the governor's and the California Republican Party spokeswoman's criticism of Bush coming to Los Angeles Thursday to raise $1 million for the Republican National Committee.
Democrats capitalized on the rift in the Republican Party by staging a press conference Friday morning urging the governor to meet with the president to fulfill his campaign promise to be a "collectinator" of federal dollars for the state.

3. Whatever happened to "The Collectinator". . .
Remember when Schwarzenegger said he was going to go to Washington and get California a greater return on its tax dollar? I recall he was met by a host of Congresscritters, all of whom wanted their picture taken with him, but I don't remember any additional money coming back with him.

Anyone know what happened with that idiotic quest (as if I truly need to ask)?

4. you have to know the Bee to appreciate this journalist...
I live in Sacramento, at least once a week, some hack journalist named Andy Furillo writes (or is handed) some propaganda piece on the Gov. or one of his special election issues. It is thinly disguised as news and sometimes appears as the top story on the front page of the paper. The person who wrote this one could lose her job.

15. Arnies support is in the thirties - probably some of that
support (all?) are bush supporters. So while being aligned with bush in Cal is bad - he already has lost support from those he would lose by being seen with bush. So his rock and a hard place bet... probably will put him in the twenties. LOL on Arnie!

13. Schwarzenegger Asked to Meet With Bush
pathetic jerk ...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger rebuffed requests from leading California Democrats that he break from his special election campaign long enough to ask President Bush for more federal money.

The Republican governor said he was too busy before the Nov. 8 vote to meet with the president during Bush's two-day stop in Southern California on Thursday and Friday.

But Schwarzenegger also said he was not happy that Bush was raising money in California so close to the special election.

"We would have appreciated it if he had done his fundraising after Nov. 8," Schwarzenegger said Wednesday. The governor has yet to reach his $50 million fundraising goal to promote his ballot initiatives, which would curb the power of the Democrat-controlled Legislature.
