Two CIA Contractors Killed in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON -- Two contractors working for the CIA were killed in an ambush in Afghanistan, the agency said Tuesday.

William Carlson, 43, of Southern Pines, N.C., and Christopher Glenn Mueller, 32, of San Diego, were "tracking terrorists operating in the region" of Shkin, a village in eastern Afghanistan, when they were killed Saturday, the CIA said in a statement.

Both were veterans of military special operations forces, the CIA said.

Contractors? Dyncorp, maybe? That's oversight 2 or 3 times removed.

1. See? That's the beauty of privatization!
You could have 10,000 Americans killed, but as long as they are just contractors, who the hell cares? It's not like they were real soldiers who get buried at Arlington, etc.

2. It's bothering me that no one is claiming
these Americans - State Dept - not them, CIA - not them. Haven't heard any denials from DynCorp but it is disgraceful when our people are killed and no one will even acknowledge that they are there. I know, I know - we do it in Colombia all the time - doesn't make it right.

3. Looks like the "terra-ists" these guys were tracking were tracking them
Wonder what kind of shape the bodies were in? I have read some bad stories of when the Russians were over there trying to do the same thing.

5. There will be a lot of connecting the dots going on.
CIA agents should really be pissed at this administration but they won't be. There are certain ideologies that override "principle" "honesty"and "loyalty" and "integrity." Think hard enough and you will be able to name them
