Wal-Mart Strikes at Critical Movie
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Wal-Mart Stores Inc., under a new barrage of criticism for how it treats its workers, is going on the offensive a week before the launch of a documentary that attacks the retail giant. The company alleges that director Robert Greenwald's movie "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices" gets basic facts wrong.

The world's biggest retailer and largest private employer in the United States, with 1.2 million domestic workers, is also touting a rival DVD release, "Why Wal-Mart Works: And Why That Drives Some People C-R-A-Z-Y".

"I'm a bit surprised at the amount of money that they are spending in attacking me," Greenwald told The Associated Press in a telephone interview on Thursday.

In a media packet sent to news organizations this week, and on its Internet site, Wal-Mart says it has only seen trailers for the Greenwald movie but dismisses it as "a propaganda video".

communities in which they reside, they're crappy for the environment selling a bunch of cheap shit designed to deteriorate so people have to buy it twice or more

8. Important rule
In the 70's I read a "How to" book about for military coups and ruling a third world country. The most important rule was never spend money trying to improve living conditions - put everything into propaganda and oppression. Walmart is just going by the book.

The information packet would be a "reasonable, level-headed set of educational materials", of course.

That's their story and they're sticking to it.

13. You'll see a lot of brainwashed employees...
Most either in their late teens to early twenties, or 60+ years old, believe me, I worked there, they are good at the brainwashing, especially with that damned cheer.

and screw everyone else.

Sooner or later this parasitic ponzi scheme collapses of its own weight. Often the lowest price brings with it expensive headaches.

Another good argument for national health coverage; to hell with Harry and Louise and their insurance company libbyist lawyers.

16. The people who made the pro-Wal-Mart movie were interviewed.
One of them said (paraphrasing), "Wal-Mart illustrates the beauty of the free market."

Yeah, dumbass, how about you work there for a year first. Then tell us about the "beauty."

I would never have heard about that movie in the first place. Just exactly how is Wal Mart expected to sell their advertising like that anyway?

19. Google bomb
http://www.walmartmovie.com/

Google bomb June 16, 2005

One of the great things we were able to do with Outfoxed was get it listed high in Google for "rupert murdoch" and "fox news". Currently Outfoxed is the 4th result for "fox news", and the 2nd result for "rupert murdoch". And that's because hundreds of people on the internet linked their websites to outfoxed, and called the link "fox news" or "rupert murdoch", just like I did in the previous sentence.

This is called google bombing.. it can frequently be used for evil, but we're clearly using this for good!

This time we're in for a challenge. We want to be on the first page of results for "walmart". Certainly not an easy task, but one that's doable, WITH YOUR HELP. Thousands of people search for walmart every day, and wouldn't it be great if they saw: "WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price" in those results? That's outreach.

So start putting those links on your websites, and try to get others to as well. If you've got a blog, even just finding an old post where you mention wal-mart, and turning that into a link to http://www.walmartmovie.com/ will let Google know the movie is important.

21. So, if I do this
Walmart

Google picks it up simply as a Walmart reference and if enough people do it in various places, it rises to the top when searching for Walmart on Google?
