I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, is establishing a fund to help pay for his legal defense in the CIA leak case, New York Times sources tell RAW STORY they paper will report Wednesday.

Associates of Libby have begun soliciting money from his friends and Republican donors, lawyers and people who have been contacted about the fund the Times will report.

Libby was indicted for five counts in the investigation into who outed covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. He stands to face trial for perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements.
