BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - American forces detained and later released an Iraqi with the same name as one of the suicide attackers who struck three hotels in Amman, Jordan, last week, the U.S. military said Monday.

Jordanian authorities said Safaa Mohammed Ali, 23, was among the suicide attackers who struck last Wednesday at the Grand Hyatt, SAS Radisson and Day's Inn hotels, killing at least 57 people.

A statement by the U.S. command said someone by that name was detained in November 2004 in connection with the American assault on the insurgent stronghold of Fallujah. The command said it could not confirm whether the person detained was the same man who took part in the Amman attack.

Meanwhile, the televised confession of an Iraqi woman who was accused of being the fourth would-be suicide attacker set Jordanians buzzing Monday, with some expressing joy over her capture and others venting anger over her deadly plans. Still others questioned if she was really involved in the bomb plot.

Sajida Mubarak Atrous al-Rishawi went from rural Iraqi obscurity to global notoriety overnight after her confession was aired Sunday in a broadcast beamed not just across Jordan, but throughout the Middle East and beyond.

3. Mohammed Ali
sounds like one of those very rare names, you know, like John Smith.

The RW will use this as grounds to torture people's future actions from them, conveniently ignoring that it might have been his experience in custody that caused him to do such a horrendous thing.

All of this is based on it actually being the same person.

"He was detained locally at the division detention facility" but was released two weeks later because there was no "compelling evidence to continue to hold him" as a "threat to the security of Iraq."

7. Federal investigators do sweeping investigations of,
say, drug operations, and in the process of investigating, they uncover lots of little cogs in the illegal operation.

Once arrested, a "cog" is given an option of wearing a wire (eavesdropping device) and being sent back to his organization. Of course, the larger organization must be completely ignorant of the fact that the "cog" has been arrested by the feds.

Then the "cog" tries to get bigger guys in the organization to make incriminating statements. Those statements are picked up by the FBI, and voila! Now the FBI has something to use to prosecute the bigger guys.

Now, considering this, what if American forces pick up an "al quaeda"? Would they just keep this little "al quaeda" as a small prize, or would they maybe turn this little "al quaeda" and use him/her for their own purposes?

Suppose the Americans (and/or their supporters) wanted to spread a little fear in Jordan, and ramp up anti-al-quaeda feeling there? Who better to use (as a "terrorist") than some guy they had captured, and who they now therefore controlled? Remember, while "suicide bombers" are being blamed for the Jordan attacks, there is actually evidence that bombs were planted in ceilings. How do we know the bombers were actually "suicide bombers"? Because CNN/Faux/Bushco tell us?

It's done all the time. It was done at Elohim City, the place where Timothy McVeigh hung out. It's been done during Klan-busting investigations. It is standard operating procedure.
