Jordanians disavow Zarqawi but anti-US feeling high

AMMAN (Reuters) - Like many ordinary Jordanians, Hassan Eid prays for God's vengeance against his one time hero militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi when he watches television images of bloodied victims from the country's first suicide bombings.

"He is no longer a true warrior against U.S. occupation. Zarqawi has gone too far. This cannot be justified in any way," said Eid at his grocer's shop near downtown Amman, adding only Islam's enemies were benefiting from random killings.

"He is not killing Americans, he is killing Muslims."

Jordanians are still reeling with shock and revulsion at suicide attacks that killed more than 50 people, mostly Jordanians, but they say hostility toward American policies remains high in the key U.S. ally.

1. Guess he went to far this time
The Z-man shoulda stayed with killing Americans, Zionists and Iraqi Quislings.

So much for winning hearts & minds.

3. Israelis evacuated from Amman hotel hours before bombings
That was 'lucky'.

Israelis evacuated from Amman hotel hours before bombings

By Yoav Stern, Haaretz Correspondent

A number of Israelis staying on Wednesday at the Radisson hotel were evacuated before the bombing by Jordanian security forces, apparently due to a specific security alert. They were escorted back to Israel by security personnel.

The Foreign Ministry stated Wednesday that no Israeli tourists are known to have been injured in the blasts. Representatives of Israel's embassy in Amman were in contact with local authorities to examine any report of injured Israelis, but none were received. There are often a number of Israeli businessman and tourists in Amman, including in the hotels hit Wednesday.

5. Retracted by the guy who wrote the original article...
By Yoav Stern, Haaretz Correspondent

http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/643661.html

The original Haaretz article has been removed from the Web of course.

Everytime a bomb goes off allegations of Israelis being warned prior are filtered only to be retracted. It happened with Associated Press after London (retracted)... 9-11... and now Jordan with Haaretz - a strange phenomena.
