Kerry Slams Bush in New Iowa TV Ad
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031101/ap_on_el_pr/kerry_ad_3

WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) accuses President Bush (news - web sites) of being cozy with big business and slams him for giving tax cuts to the wealthy in a new TV commercial set to begin airing in Iowa on Friday night.

"Under George Bush we have a government that works for those at the top — not you," the Massachusetts senator says.

It's Kerry's first ad in Iowa in a month. The latest Iowa poll released Thursday shows him trailing former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (news - web sites) and Rep. Dick Gephardt (news - web sites) of Missouri, who are fighting at the top.

The 30-second spot, which is slated to run in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, features Kerry in a shirt and tie talking directly into the camera as sunshine streams through office windows. The campaign would not disclose the cost of the ad or say when it will stop airing.

More (in which they actually mention a bit of the message rather than the candidates attire)

2. Now if Gephardt would take a cue from Kerry
and bash Bush instead of Dean, we could get a real good chorus going. Dean on the Iraq lies, Kerry on tax breaks for the rich , Clark on 911 and Gephardt on...well..Gephardt can do the all around miserable failure wrap up. Maybe more people would start to get it then. Maybe.

4. that RNC spokesperson is in for a shock
Compared to what the dems are going to do when there is a dem nominee, this ad will seem like a Bush tribute.

Christine Iverson, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee (news - web sites), said Kerry should present his plans for the nation's future instead of criticizing Bush.

"He has no message and no agenda of his own. His default position is to attack the president," she said

5. Yes. Once there is a Dem nominee
that person should run on a positive message, while the DNC, MoveOn and anybody else who want to jump in does the Bush Bash. I know I'll kick in. Can't wait.

7. They keep saying he has no message or plan, yet his plans have been laid
out for months now, and they are very comprehensive.

9. What they keep saying is a lot of wishful thinking, and HOOEY.
They WISH their opponents had no message or plan. Hate to disillusion them, but they're wrong. They happen to be wrong on EVERYTHING, and this, too. And I'm a Deanie, not a Kerry-ite. But BLESSINGS TO KERRY for doing this! About time! I wish all the candidates would start bashing bush and not each other!!!!!! After all, OUR GUYS are not the enemy. Well, except for Zell Miller...

6. if our candidates can non-stop attack bush, it will strengthen all of them
and give the best chance to the best candidate. anyone but bush means attack bush non-stop until the election. never elect bush. never let him have that pleasure... he must leave office knowing that he was NEVER elected, and NEVER represented the will of the people. we must BREAK the bushies' spirit once and for all, and smash their grip on our country's oil/military industrial complex by exposing them and suing them and prosecuting them relentlessly for as many years as it takes to rid ourselves of them.
