Associated Press Writer

ABU GHRAIB, Iraq (AP) — A land mine exploded Saturday on a road in the northern city of Mosul, killing two Americans in passing vehicles and wounding three other people, Iraqi police said, as leaflets called for a ``Day of Resistance'' to protest the U.S.-led occupation.

The U.S. military did not immediately confirm the attack in Mosul and more details weren't immediately available.

An oil pipeline also was reported on fire early Saturday about 10 miles north of Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit, an area that has seen widespread opposition to the occupation. Witnesses said they suspected sabotage because the blaze was preceded by an explosion during the night.

1. Hmm, isn't that supposed to be one of the "safe" cities?
where the eye-rackees are liking the occupation like the good A-rabs that they are?

2. The Sunni Triangle is getting bigger
To be fair, though, we sure don't hear about as much of this in British controlled Basra.

3. CNBC and "Nightline" spoke of rumors of a "Day of Rage" Saturday...
... in Iraq. Friday's Nightline especially spoke of it, showing footage of Iraqis leaving their Baghdad homes for the country, and taking their children out of school.

I hope so very much that this is not the beginning of another bloody day. :-(

6. Reuters says "At least 2 Americans Killed;" link
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=3735960

Excerpt:

A bomb blast outside a police station in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul Saturday killed at least two U.S. soldiers, Iraqi police at the scene told Reuters.

They said four U.S. soldiers had been driving past in two civilian vehicles when the bomb was detonated.

"There was a huge blast. The two drivers of the vehicles were definitely killed," said policeman Abdul-Rahman Fawaz, who witnessed the explosion, his face spattered with blood.

Other police officers at the scene said they believed three U.S. soldiers had been killed.

5. Also from Saturday, another story:14 Iraqis die in clash with US troops
14 Iraqis die in clash with US troops in Baghdad suburb

Baghdad, Nov 1 (DPA) Fourteen Iraqis were killed yesterday in clashes with US soldiers in a western suburb of Baghdad.

On the same day, a U.S. soldier was killed in an explosion in Kalidija, 85 kilometres west of the capital, the US military said today in Baghdad. Four other troops were hurt in the incident.

Back in Baghdad, a crowd of hundreds gathered to protest the incarceration of their fellow Iraqis by occupation forces, a resident told CNN. Some people in the crowd of hundreds carried posters of ousted president Saddam Hussein and others carried religious banners on the first Friday prayers of Ramadan.

Some of the Iraqis began throwing stones at a military patrol and setting tyres on fire. Then mortars were fired at a police station, and US forces called in tanks and aircraft, a US military official told the news network.

The clashes lasted seven and a half hours, and five Iraqis were also injured. (snip/...)

7. What mercenary company did these two Americans come from?
with a country-wide day of resistance, one gets the impression that "insurgents" are everyone in Iraq. Face it, America, we're not wanted there!

Fear not, Halliburton to the rescue!

Nothing an additional 900 million or so can't fix.

11. Interesting pic of Iraqi slugging a ?Iraqi Police? on Globe and Mail
http://theglobeandmail.com/

Cover.

It's what I've been saying all along. Look at the ?Police's? clothing! You can see the shine on his shoes even. Perfectly ironed shirt and slacks, (no wrinkles!). His style, clothing, haircut... is 100% equal to ALL pictures we see published from Iraqi policemen.

Why doesn't the American Whore Media question this?

Sorry, I got no server to post it.

15. SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST
Before their war was won = 114, After their mission accomplished = 120 more, Total young land of the free and home of the brave heroes just following orders = 234 (not counting dying wounded.). Iraqi men, women, and children evil doers massacred = Nobody is saying. Those seeking vengeance of family and invaded homeland honor = most. Years for Viet Cong to come together = several. Time for Iraqi resistance to build = damned near immediate. Have a nice day. :)
