(Wrongly Convicted) Man to Be Pardoned After Serving 27 Years
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uslatest/story/0,1282,-3335916,00.html

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Gov. Robert Ehrlich
announced he will grant a pardon to a man who
served 27 years in prison before his murder
conviction was overturned almost two years ago.

Ehrlich said Friday that a lengthy review of the
records of the trial convinced him that Michael
Austin ``served 27 years for a crime he did not
commit.'' Austin had been convicted of the 1974
killing of a convenience store security guard.

``I talked to him today. I apologized to him,
although words were very difficult to come by,''
the governor said.

Ehrlich also said he thinks Austin should get some
compensation from the state for the years he
spent in prison, but said he doesn't have a figure
in mind.

1. And if they had killed him?
Bush never put to death the wrong person, he said so.

The Texas Clemency Memos

As the legal counsel to Texas Governor George W. Bush, Alberto R. Gonzales—now the White House counsel, and widely regarded as a likely future Supreme Court nominee—prepared fifty-seven confidential death-penalty memoranda for Bush's review. Never before discussed publicly, the memoranda suggest that Gonzales repeatedly failed to apprise Bush of some of the most salient issues in the cases at hand

5. If any of the prosecution team are still alive
I'll bet that none of them admit the man is not guilty, apologize to him or his family. I've seen this before.
