U.S. Wants 9-11 Evidence in Moussaoui Case
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uslatest/story/0,1282,-3334281,00.html
WASHINGTON (AP) - The government has asked an appellate court to restore its right to present the horror of Sept. 11, 2001, at the trial of al-Qaida defendant Zacarias Moussaoui.

In a written brief released Friday, the Justice Department sought to reverse a lower court ruling that barred Sept. 11 evidence and the death penalty in the only U.S. case to arise from the suicide hijackings.

1. BS
Not that i want to defend maoussai, but i think this is bullshit. Basically what i think the gov't is trying to do is allow evidence that will stir up the emotions of a jury so they don't have to present real evidence that could lead to people discovering the truth to whatever is the gov't, or pres. bush, is trying to cover up. if this case goes to a military tribunal, it would be just another sign that america is turning into nazi german.

2. I agree. Everyone remembers the horror. It doesn't need to be presented.

3. The government refused to
produced relevant evidence that might aid in the defense, so the judge threw out that portion of the prosecution's case.

4. Exactly . . .
If the defense isn't allowed to view the evidence before trial, it can't be used at trial.

Mossaui was not allowed to examine evidence pertaining to 9/11 for whatever "national security" reasons the government could come up with, so if the gov. was allowed to present evidence at trial, there's no way a competent defense could be presented.
