2. CNNI is saying they were going on R & R to the states
Heck, many soldiers haven't been able to get even emergency leave let alone R & R, both programs which Bush has made a mess of on top of everything else.

I hope we'll be hearing the stories of those who died...

4. However..............

this is not the lead story on "Headline News". Those Caleefornia fires and the woman that "rammed" (at five to ten MPH) the auditorium where Bush had finished his "speech" (fundraiser) are the top story at the moment. Dead soldiers? Not newsworthy I guess.

7. What a shock to wake up to
CNN was complaining that the military had threatened to take their equipment so they had to film from a rooftop miles away.

10. I had just sent off a letter to a newspaper's "letters" section
after working on it for a week, when the next tragedy struck, inadvertantly adding fuel to my ire. It was to be my contribution to Veteran's Day. If the editors don't print it, I'm going to call them and find out why.

13. What An Asinine Statement...
(The Ex-mil, not yours) That would require a force increase larger than the public or the Resident is willing to stomach. Not to mention that we would loose a hell of a lot more that 13 in the process.

9. here is the story at Yahoo....
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031102/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_helicopter&cid=540&ncid=716

<snip>The heavy transport helicopter was the biggest U.S. target yet shot from the skies by Iraq's insurgents, in a resistance campaign that has escalated in recent days. At least one other American soldier was confirmed killed Sunday in ground attacks here and elsewhere in central Iraq. Witnesses described several other U.S. deaths.

"Currently there are 13 killed in action and more than 20 wounded," the Baghdad command said in a statement on the Chinook shootdown. It said a search was under way at the site for possible other survivors.

Witnesses said they saw two missiles fired at the helicopter, which came down amid cornfields near the village of Hasi, about 40 miles southwest of Baghdad and just south of Fallujah, a center of Sunni Muslim resistance to the U.S. occupation.

....I also saw on CNN 18 total Killed today, 1 in Baghdad, 4 in a vehicle in Falujha and the 13 in the helicopter!

14. Bring 'em On Bush gets his wish. Again.
At some point the media needs to report the number killed and wounded since Bush taunted the people killing American troops.

At some point the democratic party needs to ask the American people: "What kind of Commander-in-Chief taunts the people killing American troops? Indeed, what kind of American does so?"
