Beaver County(PA) soldier's death in Iraq called homicide(Nov 05)
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05339/617647.stm

The Army announced today that the death of a Beaver County soldier in Iraq last month was a homicide.

Pvt. Dylan Paytas, 20, of Freedom, was shot "after an argument with another individual," said Chris Gray of Army criminal investigations. The Army had previously said Pvt. Paytas was shot multiple times and his death was being investigated.

But it had declined to further characterize the Nov. 16 incident in Baqubah until today.

Mr. Gray said he had no other information.

1. Just a theory: Maybe he excercised his right to refuse illegal orders?
and got shot for it. I'm willing to bet quite a few of the suspicious deaths in Iraq are because of that. Or maybe I just have the hat on too tight :tinfoilhat:

3. Can't say I'm surprised.
When you stick that many people, continuously armed, into that kind of high-stress situation for as long as they have, you're going to end up with murders.

4. During GW1
A guy threatened another guy I later worked for with a loaded rifle over a porno mag. Guys would kick the shit out of each other over nothing. Stress messes with people.

People get really wound up when they are isolated from "normalcy" for a while.

My bet is a fight between people who knew each other. Terrible
