Soldiers hurt in attack on copter undergoing treatment at Landstuhl
http://estripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=18474

Sixteen U.S. soldiers wounded in a deadly attack on their helicopter in Iraq underwent treatment Monday at an American military hospital in Germany for injuries that included head wounds and broken bones.

Eleven were in serious or critical condition in the intensive care unit at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, said U.S. Army Col. Rhonda Cornum, the hospital’s commander. Five others less seriously wounded were receiving care in regular surgical wards.

While the hospital is well equipped to handle the latest influx of trauma patients, Corman said if such attacks continue at a high rate, the hospital will have to consider measures to increase staff and bed space.
