Supreme Court rejects church-state fight over Ten Commandments monument
WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court steered clear of a contentious religious dispute on Monday, ending the legal fight of a judge who wanted to put a 2 1/2-ton granite Ten Commandments monument back on display in an Alabama courthouse.

The defeat for suspended Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore was expected.

i have a good friend who i e-mail
stuff about BushCo, and she agrees with how much of a dipshit he is
but when it comes to
the pledge and this 10 commandments BS
she is all
"IT's NOT YOUR GOD THEY ARE GOING AFTER!"
by the way i am buddhist -- raised Hindu by my parents

i cant figure it out.
the rest of the time
she is a sane open minded liberal
but when it comes to this
a wing nut

i have stopped her cold several times on this subject
"we should have prayers in school" she says

i ask "so you have no problem if you kids come home after learing
how to chant Lord Ganesha's name from a school mate?"

she says "well no, as long as they teach x-tain prayers"

i respond "so you are not really for prayer in school are you? you just want to have a captive audience to convert?"

she says"no, i belive in freedom of religion"

on and on it goes.
i can never get through

amazing
