Bush to hold press conference shortly
From MSNBusCh

Unexpected announcement follows his speech to nation Sunday

WASHINGTON - The White House unexpectedly announced Monday morning that President Bush will hold a news conference at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Details were not immediately available, though the question and answer session will be held at the White House.

The president has traditionally made an opening statement at news conferences, but it was not clear if he would do so at this one.

Sunday night, Bush addressed the nation on his Iraq policy, asking that Americans “not give up on this fight for freedom.”

8. I expect that as usual the questions and
questioners will be pre-determined and the whole bogus event scripted. Otherwise the chimp wouldn't be doing it. The corporate whores otherwise known as the WH Press Corps are - with very few exceptions - there to prop the chimp up. I happened to hear a so-called "reporter" on C-span this am vigorously defending chimp's "program" of domestic surveillance. Talking points have already been distributed.

29. Who was that?
What reporter was defending the unconcstitutional surveillance of U.S. citizens? Name, please, anybody.

I expect the questions at the press conference to be a complete waste of time as they have been for 5 years, but what reporter would openly defend the chimp breaking the law and the Constitution?

40. here's a sample of the questions that I expect at this PC
Q: What color is Laura's dress at the holiday dinner?

Q: Did Barney enjoy frolicking in the snow for the holiday card?

Q: Do you think that Santa Claus will bring you anything special this year?

Q: Have the twins been enjoying their first year off from college? (some follow drivel may ensue)

Q: Are you planning on more vacations this year since it's almost over and where will you spend your holidays, i.e. Crawford, Kennebunkport, Camp David?

more inane stupidity will follow with *Co running into a door if someone dares go off script.

50. "banters with reporters"
http://www.wcnc.com/news/topstories/stories/wcnc-121905-al-bush_dayafter.2574ac75.html

excerpt:

Despite the weighty issues Bush addressed, the president bantered with reporters at times during the news conference.

"So many questions, so little time," said one, and the president had a ready quip. "Ask a short question," he said.

...more crap at link...

43. Wake up, please, wake up!
They now came upon more and more of the big scarlet poppies, and fewer and fewer of the other flowers; and soon they found themselves in the midst of a great meadow of poppies. Now it is well known that when there are many of these flowers together their odor is so powerful that anyone who breathes it falls asleep, and if the sleeper is not carried away from the scent of the flowers, he sleeps on and on forever. But Dorothy did not know this, nor could she get away from the bright red flowers that were everywhere about; so presently her eyes grew heavy and she felt she must sit down to rest and to sleep.

But the Tin Woodman would not let her do this.

"We must hurry and get back to the road of yellow brick before dark," he said; and the Scarecrow agreed with him. So they kept walking until Dorothy could stand no longer. Her eyes closed in spite of herself and she forgot where she was and fell among the poppies, fast asleep.

"What shall we do?" asked the Tin Woodman.

"If we leave her here she will die," said the Lion. "The smell of the flowers is killing us all. I myself can scarcely keep my eyes open, and the dog is asleep already."

17. If you watched the last episode, its VERY telling.
number 6 is man fighting the conflict between his animalistic and rational natures. the animalistic nature launches the big bomb.

macgoohan was a prophet, I'm tellin ya.

but it would probably be unmutual for me to point that out.

I'll be seeing you!

37. Boxed DVD set? I think the series is best viewed on fuzzy old VHS copies
taped from PBS broadcasts in the 80s.

It more closely duplicates the original CBS summer-replacement viewing experience. Now if I could only find a 19" black and white TV...

39. I recommend seeing the entire series...
my wife got me the boxed set. Its a prophetic metaphor for what is happening now.

a little TOO prophetic.

keep in mind, MacGoohan's original idea was only X number of episodes, but the network made them increase the number to make the whole season. If you just watch the original intended order, the story arc becomes more clear.

Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 09:05 AM by Skarbrowe
I'll admit to not having a clue to what's going on. I didn't even stay awake for last night's propaganda spew. Plus, I haven't had any news on yet today. We do know a possible indictment might be coming down against Rove. Cheney just went to Iraq and from what I hear got a rather unpleasant welcome from our troops. Seems like a lot is happening at the moment, none of it being good for you know who.

EDITED to say...I misread the topic title as there being an unexpected announcement from Bush. Didn't realize he's just wanting some TV attention to keep the spin going.

:silly:

I'm willing to be my last dollar that Bush's ratings are lower than we think. Probably in the low teen's. Like 10%.

EVERYONE I know hates Bush. Not ONE single person that I talk to approves of what he's done. Not one.
