US says mosque suicide bombing killed 10 Iraqis

BAGHDAD, Dec 23 (Reuters) - A suicide bombing outside a Shi'ite mosque in a town northeast of Baghdad on Friday killed as many as 10 Iraqis, including a policeman, and wounded four others, the U.S. military said on Friday.

Iraqi police earlier had put the death toll at four, and said eight others were wounded.

A bomber rode his bicycle into the courtyard of the crowded mosque in Balad Ruz, but blew himself up when he was prevented from entering it, the U.S. military said.
